Good performance, great storage, and solid build

Coming from 920, 925 and iPhone 5s, the 830 is on par and above for a replacement phone. Performance is smooth and the added expandable storage is a major plus. The build is solid and feels great in the hand. It is easily thinner and lighter than my previous Lumias and the styling of the aluminum frame and interchangeable back covers also sold me on the handheld. Terrific product!

The Lumia 830 is by far the best Windows Phone period! The first Windows Phone I owned was the 521 and it blew me away because of how different it was from iOS and Android. My next phone was the 635 which was okay but seemed like a step down from the 521. The 830 on the other hand is a complete upgrade. By far the highlight of the 830 is the camera. This is absolutely my favorite camera from any smartphone I have used and the fact that this is a midrange phone is mind-boggling. Images come out crisp and clear with great detail. The screen is excellent and really gorgeous. When compared to my 635 the difference is immediately evident although this is expected, nevertheless it is impressive. Cortana comes out of beta with the 830 and she still rocks! The 830 is a excellent upgrade for anyone coming from the budget end of the market. It won't disappoint.

Switch from Android to WP. Very impressed. I don't care much for apps. Only need one or two. Use my phone for keeping in touch with kids. Office 365 integrate easy with my work email.

An excellently designed Windows smartphone

As an early WP 7 adopter, I finally upgraded my old LG Quantum to the Lumia 830. Wow is this great phone. Screen size is as big as I would want and it still fits in my front pocket, also it is very responsive and fast. The setup for multiple email accounts is a breeze and the flexibility of the metro main screen layout is great. The Nokia Glance screen and placement of real buttons for photos and power button on side of case are well thought-out. After a week with this new phone, there is nothing I find that is negative about it. A very affordable flagship upgrade!

I downgraded from the 1520 to the 830 because I just couldn't handle how big the 1520 was. The 830 would be perfect if it had hey Cortana and the Lumia camera. Based solely on these two things, I may return the phone and switch to Verizon for the icon. It is almost mandatory to have these features on a WP.

AT&T and an 830 is a bad combination

I am really annoyed that I purchased a phone that AT&T will not support with updates. The phone was sold by AT&T with an early release of Denim and as such is not eligible for the WIN10 update coming later this year.
IF Microsoft would provide the updates for this phone my rating would change, otherwise I am really annoyed with both AT$T and Microsoft. Someone needs to step up to the plate and support customer that are keeping this eco-system alive.

I have had my 830 for about 3 weeks now and ask delighted with it. It runs very smoothly and slickly, and for all the things I do it has more than enough supported. The camera is great, and I am looking forward to getting the new Lumia Camera app.
I think Microsoft now has a winning phone, asked the 830 is excellent. Battery life is good enough and the wireless charging is convenient and effective.
All round I can recommend this phone.
