The battery life is only about two weeks.It doest do a really good job of cleaning your teeth in two minutes.The replacement brush heads are too expensive.
Cons: short battery life., short brush life.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the fact that it automatically turns off when you've brushed the recommended time. My teeth feel cleaner and my dental hygienist notices a difference in the amount of plaque.

Before using Phillips Sonicare Xtreme, I used the arm and hammer battery toothbrush and it doesn't have the power Phillips have. The arm and hammer was falling apart. When I got the Phillips Sonicare Xtreme, It is an major improvement. For now on, I'm using Phillips Sonicare regardless!

I have been using a Sonicare tooth brush for 15 years. I bought this battery operated one when I was going on a trip without my husband. I thought it would be worse then the rechargeable Sonicare, but I was wrong! It is awesome! I highly recommend any of the Sonicare products, especially this one, for the value and performance!

Dentist-clean teeth every day

No harder to use than an ordinary toothbrush, the Phillips keeps my teeth as clean as a visit to the hygienist every day -- in 2 minutes I love it. I even took it camping. My husband laughed at me, but I just gave him a big white, toothy smile.
