I think it does a good job without pushing my gums back. Looking forward to my next trip to the dentist to see what the hygenist says.

its a good product - easy to use and dental check ups are definitely better. I am glad i switched to sonicare.
Pros: cleans more plaque
Cons: the intensity of brushing declines as battery gets

Good for the fastidious

The unit works well. I use with rechargeable batteries.
Care must be taken to avoid getting water in the wrong places including, the battery compartment and under the brush base connection. For me this is not to difficult as I use care when brushing, use vaseline on the battery compartment seal to avoid damaging when removing the cap, and I remove the brush from the base after each use. I purchased one of these for my wife and after a few month use I remove the brush and yuck!!!! Black mold/mildew! Got it cleaned up and we both remove the brush after each use.
I like the unit but, can't recommend it to others with these design flaws. Too bad as this would be perfect for children.
Pros: in espensive, user replacable batteries
Cons: brushes are expensive, water gets between brush & base, care must be used to protect battery seal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had this Sonicare & electric version - I love the clean, fresh feeling my teeth have after use of both. This is easy to take along if I travel.

I've had this Sonicare & the electric version - I love the clean, fresh feeling my teeth have after use of both. This is easy to take along if I travel. Feel like I'm "cheating" if I don't use it!!
Cons: button could be easier to turn on this version.
Does a great job! Liked it so much, I bought one for my sister.

Battery operated Sonicare gives Philips a bad name.

Customer service has already sent out two replacements for the battery operated Xtreme after the brush would go dead long before two minutes was up. Batteries checked out okay. This last one lasted a little longer but now it does the same thing. I'm tired of dealing with it. I give up. I'm back with my manual toothbrush. At least that works every time.
Cons: not dependable., frustrating.

Enjoy using. Some trouble with switch just cutting brushing action off unexpectly.
The replaceable battery Sonicare performs as well as the rechargeable but it doesn't give you the 30 second warning it just goes for 2 minutes. I prefer the 30 second interval. The original Phillips batteries that came with the unit failed in about 2 weeks. The literature with the unit said to expect 6 week performance. Replacement alkaline batteries are still good after one month of twice a day brushing.
