Battery Sonicare toothbrush
on October 10, 2011

I purchased the battery Sonicare toothbrush for travel outside the country. It has been excellent and easy for travel, just take extra batteries just in case. I have found the batteries to last a reasonable time. I also have a rechargeable Sonicare and found both toothbrushes to be excellent. They have given me positive reports from my peridontist. I live in a two story house so it is perfect to have one Sonicare in each bathroom. I have used the rechargeable since the early 90's (as soon as they were available). I could not live without either one of them.

The batteries don't last

The factory batteries only lasted two weeks. If that continues the battery maintenance cost will be significant. I have a rechargable Sonicare, but the only replacement heads I could by do not fit correctly, causing excessive vibration when used. Disappointment on TWO COUNTS.

battery life in unacceptably low
on June 19, 2012

The original Phillips batteries lasted only 2 weeks. Replacement batteries, depending on brand lasted only one week to 10 days. I am now trying lithium batteries, which are very expensive. This product is not acceptable even for vacation travel. Major improvements need to be made. I am going to contact customer service.
Cons: battery life is too short

I've owned rechargeable Sonicare toothbrushes and never had problems with them until the rechargeable battery wore out. I decided to try this disposable battery-operated model (takes two AA cells) this time, for convenience (no need to pack the recharger for travel.) It works great - same as the regular models, but the batteries only last for 7-10 days, then have to be replaced (regular alkaline cells.) All in all, not a bad trade-off. Just buy cheap grocery-store brand alkalines, and you'll be fine. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the short battery life.
Pros: works as well as other sonicare models.
Cons: short battery life.

I use rechargeable aa batteries so I don't spend money on batteries all the time I brush 2x day so I charge the battery about once every three weeks to keep the power strong, switched from an elite series because the built in battery died after about 2 years this one should last a lot longer

Inexpensive and effective

The battery operated toothbrush is as effective as the more expensive counterparts. Of course there are many more features in them and they are "better", however this is just as effective when it comes to brushing.
