I recently purchased the Cuisinart Elite Collection 4 Cup Chopper/Grinder, and I must report how delighted I am in its quality and performance. It is simple to use and is just the right size equipment to prepare hummus, pesto and a variety of other recipes with very little effort. Its blades are powerful and has the ability to chop garlic, onions and grind hard nuts and spices effortlessly. I also have the much larger Cuisinart food processor which I cherish and use for much larger recipes. I am so very pleased with this purchase and I'm sure I will be using it for many years to come. For those of you looking to purchase a smaller food processor give this equipment a try, I'm sure you will be pleased with it as well.

I live alone in a very small apartment--I received this 4 cup chopper as a gift from my daughter-in-law at Christmas and it is my go-to food prep tool now, Had your 2 cup which is great but mostly nuts, pesto etc but this 4 cup I use to puree small batches of soup, hummus, fruit smoothies! Living alone, no room for extra appliances--wonderful product.

Purchased two, one for each house. Both of them broke where the plastic meets the metal blade. This happened within a year of purchase. Recommend you purchase a different brand.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Cuisinart® Elite Collection™ 4‑Cup Chopper/Grinder, model CH‑4DC, and we’re sorry to hear about the durability issues you encountered. To help reduce stress on internal components, we recommend processing smaller batches, using short pulses instead of continuous operation, and avoiding very hard ingredients, which can place added strain on the blade assembly over time. Our Consumer Assistance Center can review your concerns and warranty options—please contact 1‑800‑726‑0190 and reference Ticket #8900582097 for assistance. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us identify areas for improvement in future models.

I have wanted a mini-prep for a long time. It's perfect for everyday cooking jobs for every day meals. ( Pesto, Salsa, Guacamole, Salad Dressing, on and on ) A larger food processor is just overkill and you tend to not want to use it for little everyday jobs. If you have more than 1 item to process it's so easy to give it a quick rinse and go on to the next item. Easy clean! It works great and I think it's built to last. As far as cons, well everybody seems to have something but for what this product is intended for I see none. You will like this product.

I would not recommend this product. The top is very hard to get off. In fact, mine is stuck now, and I can't get it off at all. Also, it takes several attempts to get the container in the correct position to lock and be able to start. When it did work, I liked the results. However, it has become too frustrating to deal with. I don't need a big food processor and was hoping this would work for all my needs. I was definitely disappointed in the first Cuisinart product I've ever purchased.
