Works well

The unit works well; it provides power for quite a while. Since the power has only gone off once since installation, and the computer was shut off before hand, I don't know yet how the automatic shut down will work. I have noticed one problem so far, and that is ever since the installation I can no longer use my old AppleWorks program. It is a very old program, though, so I probably should get a new version anyway. I am using this with a Power PC G4 Mac OS 10.4.11.

APC Back up

I received this unit in good shape. It was easy to install and seems to be working well. I have not has a pwer failure to test the battery back up to date. I assume I could unplug it and get the same effect. My Grandson, who works with computers,
recommended I install thjis type of unit on my computer.

Year Old APC UPS Gave Its Life

A nearby auto accident took out a transformer and power for several blocks, causing an overload> The six year old unit did its job, protected the modem and router. The overload was terminal. The 450 in the past provided ample power during other outages for my home office. I was extremely satisfied with the 450, knew I wanted another. I also liked that buying from APC, I could returm the dead unit to be disposed in an environmentall responsible way.

Replaced a previous APC Back UPS unit whose battery had died...was able to obtain totally new unit for only $20 over price of new battery, so well worth it! Previous product had worked great to maintain enough power for shut down during electrical interruptions. Impressed that I was able to return old product postpaid to be recycled!

Terrific Product

I have used APC UPS for years to protect my equipment. My old APC UPS failed after 6 years of good use. I promptly replaced it under their upgrade program. This one has a longer three year warranty than my old one which is nice and the time and size is bigger for about the same price I paid 6 years ago. It works great!
