We read several reviews, shopped around and decided that this washer was the best value for the money. Very quiet. My wife loves the washing results. Easy to use. Good quality. Outstanding customer service.

Motor. It died.

My wife and I were lucky to buy this machine used at a really low price. It was in good shape and hardly used. We had it a year and then the motor went out. I was thoroughly impressed with this cool washer, except that the motor broke. My appliance guy, who is certified with LG was surpised about the motor when he came to check it out. Maybe we just had bad luck. Machines break but I would still buy another LG. A KEY is to have a good water softener too.
Pros: easy to use

I love how the washer and dryer play a song when my load is done, as opposed to an annoying beeping! I was impressed with how litlle noise it makes, even when on high spin speed there was no shaking or noise. Great purchase for the price! Another great LG product!

This LG washer does not stand up to its True Balance Anti-Vibration as advertisied. We've have nothing but problems with the washer spinning out of control and walking across the laundry room. Anti-vibration pads were installed and it's worse.
Pros: Features/Settings, easy to use, Style/Design

Should be recalled
on September 2, 2012

I usually do not write reviews, but thought I should on this one to warn others. Initially, this looked like a great washer with lots of features for the price. Attractively built, and decent warranty. This is the problem: All the cycles except the "quick wash" are painfully too long......with the purpose being to save water at all costs. This is unecessay to meet today's green standard. However, the biggest problem is water and suds spilling out all over the floor from the detergent drawer during the spin cycle. There is no obstruction in the drawer and the proper detergent and amount is being used. Upon calling the service department, I am told that every 20 or so days I am supposed to drain the water from a door on the bottom of the unit because the unit wasn't equipped to handle the excess water that collects on the lip of the front glass in the door. It doesn't say this in the manual, but the lady says that it should be assumed by the customer and they have no recall for the unit. If you forget to drain the unit, then you get the surprise of a flooded laundry room. We already have too much to keep up with, as would most people. So, what you get is a faulty new washer that was not properly engineered in the first place. Unacceptable and inexcusable in this day and age.

Large capacity and efficient but odor and gunk
on December 18, 2012

I've had my washer about 2 years. Although I open the trap door to drain the water and clean the filter about every 2 weeks and wipe out the rubber liner regularly, I continue to periodically end up with clothes dirtier after the wash than when they went in. There is brown gunk throughout the inside of the drum. I cannot find the source and it is only intermittent so I don't think it is a blocked hose. The good news is that it washes off easily but it does require washing the load a second time defeating the purpose of this washer. I would not recommend this washer.
