It's only part of the story

The Printhead was purchased upon recommendation of the technical support . Unfortunately, the problem was "major ink leak" elsewhere. The Magenta light was blinking . 2 cartridges and a printhead were purchased. An office table now has a magenta color as well as a pair of pants. The 8000 has been replaced with a HP 8100. The cost of the cartidges and printhead exceeded the cost of the replacement printer and the remaining "in-stock" ink cartridges are not compatible with the 8100.

Completely fixed my printer's streaking

My printer (an otherwise reliable Officejet Pro 8500) was badly streaking photographs and pictures and all of the fixes on the "tools" menu could not get rid of the white streaks that were appearing. I was seriously thinking about junking the printer and buying a new one but decided to give buying a new printer head instead a chance, despite its relatively high price. The new part has worked perfectly. I was also afraid that might be hard to install since I had no idea where printer head was but the instructions were clear and simple and I was able to change the heads in less than 1 min.
Definitely worth the expense.

Product is defective

I got a replacement printhead, and ti worked fine for a few weeks. Now I get a message saying it has a problem, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Should I order another printhead and subject myself to the possibility of the same problem? Or should I just go get another non-HP printer? I'm very upset with the quality of the product.

When I first received the print head I could not get it to work. It took numerous attempts to finally get it to work.

Product made printer work well

I had no idea that my HP Officejet Pro 8000 had PRINTHEADS! I encountered printheads with non-HP printers owned by friends and the printheads seemed to give those other brand printers constant printing quality issues.
Had I known this particular printer came with them, I would not have purchased the printer. With that said, the printer is now working well and I am pleased with its performance. I am also informed that separate printheads are no longer part of this type of printer!
