A Great First Fone!!!

The LG shine was a great first phone:) To start, its very attractive and is a pretty good size ( not to bulky or heavy). The camera quality is good, however, u cant zoom. The video quality wasnt bad either, but the sound quality sucked. also the video can only be like a minute and then u have to make a new one. It does have good volume, and can be pretty loud sometimes. the ringtones arent bad at all, but if u download a song like "Not Afraid" and want to set it as a ring tone, it wont let u. The fone is def. easy to use, there arent complicated features. the keys were a perfect size, but i wldnt recommend it for people who love to txt. Ive dropped this fone thousands of times and its still in grt condition, just a few scratches. The battery, however, is prob. the worst CON to this fone. U have to charge it like everynight, but whos kiddin who every LG fone is like tht. Overall, ive had the fone for 2 yrs, and have been happy with it. Now, though, im switchin to the LG VU PLUS since im getting unlimited txting. I wld definently recommend this phone for first time users :)
Pros: camera/video quality, durable, ease of use, menus
Cons: battery life, limited memory
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone, but not for me.

I've have the original for about 2 years now, and I'll be honest. It's not for me. But that's only because I text a lot, so I need a full QWERTY keyboard. If you don't need a keyboard, then this would be a great phone for you! It's a very attractive phone, it's easy to use, the volume is good, the camera is good, and the battery life is great. But it's kind of bulky, and VERY heavy. I've dropped this phone more times than you can ever imagine, and it still works great. The LG Shine a pretty good phone. :)
This phone is ok!! It has great features and batteries but its the worst phone for texters the buttons are WWWAAAAYYYYY to small and you mess up all the time the texting freezes all the time and it locks up too much very bulky!!!!
I got this phone from my mom, after she used it for a while. The battery was great, and customizing ringtones was easy. There's many ringtone choices, and the viberate mode is perfect. Texting is fairly easy, and calling is super easy. The camera works ok. I would recommend this phone to anyone anytime.
Pros: battery life, camera/video quality, ease of use, good for texting, menus, tools
Cons: freezes, small keys
I would recommend this to a friend!

I first bought this phone in 2008. It was beautiful and elegant. The appearance is what first attracted me. I was so happy at first.
It has survived being left in a pot of water and being left outside during the rain.
Overall I've had a few issues with the joystick, battery, phone randomly turning off, and un-wanted calls being answered while I was texting.
However, I have tried two phones after the Shine and I want to go back to it. It's like a first love.
Pros: camera/video quality, durable, menus, tools, sleek and elegant, survives water damage
After reading some of these reviews I don't understand! This is the most reliable phone I have ever had! I have the original Shine...2 years going strong. I left it on the hood of my car once...and it flew off my hood on the interstate...I found it...and everything still works...no problems...the phone is practical...everything you need in a phone without those useless extras. Although I was hoping for a keypad...I can make do because my battery life is fairly decent. I charge it 4 times a week and that's it. The phone is not bulky by no means...fits perfect in my pocket. I tried to use a Samsung Propel...and hated it...I went back to my shine...its my loyal little gadget.
I had the original version of the LG Shine. At first, I loved it. It was nice and sleek. It had a mirror, kinda. And it was really easy to figure out.
After abt 4moss of use, the phone stopped charging. It wasnt tht the phone would not hold a charge, but tht the cord no longer fit into the phone, or something along those lines. I went and got the phone replaced, but I lost everything. All the games, pictures, contacts, text messages.
Its been abt 9mos. since tht incident and now my phone is refusing to charge again. This time, however, whn i plug the charger in, my phone turns off and still dnt charge.
Pros: ease of use, games, good for texting, menus, tools
I got this phone as my first phone... I had to charge it every night. It started freezing and turning black on me after about 16 months. The camera works well. Texting I found very easy and fast!... And I am a big texter. It is on the heavier side but it easily fit in my back pocket. The signature for texting is used a lot for me, and is just fun! I would recommend this phone for "beginners." Although, the speaker phone is pretty quiet, and recorded sounds could not be used as ringtones... But I loved having this phone and am looking for another one like it.
Pros: durable, ease of use, good for texting, menus
