Great Little First Contract Phone
on April 27, 2010
Posted by: 0ryanx
This LG Shine II is my first contract phone. So when I got my Shine II it was awsome, I loved the apps on it, and the way everthing was easily findable on the menus. I only have to charge my battery 3 times a week. At first I thought it was bulky, but relatively compared to blackberrys, this phone isnt as wide as them, leaving it less bulky. The only real downfall I have is the small keys, I am a texter and the small keys sometimes gives me problems by typoing since they are so small, so if your a heavy texter you might not want it unless you can deal with typos at times like myself.
Pros: battery life, camera/video quality, durable, ease of use, good for texting, menus, speaker, tools, Wi-Fi capable
Cons: small keys
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great first phone

I got the first edition phone as my first when I was 15. I'd read a lot of reviews about how it was not durable and scratched easily, but I have dropped it thousands of times onto numerous surfaces and the only issue has been the the paint on the back scracthes off easily. It has never frozen, turned off randomly, or had any glitches. After about a year there was some difficulties where the receiver didn't work so I couldn't hear anyone when I made a call (basically the phone made no sound occasionally) but, like I said, I dropped it a ton of times... it's also very likely that water got in the phone. I then ordered a new phone, the same one, and it was fine. The only issue is the small keys; if you are a heavy texter, it will get annoying. But overall a wonderful phone.
Pros: battery life, camera/video quality, durable, ease of use, menus, tools
Cons: small keys

Practical and Tough as Nails

I had the original Shine and was extremely satisfied, with the one exception of the charger dying (not the phone's fault). I've dropped it countless times and it still performs to specifications. However, over time, the phone became extremely scratched. Now I have the Shine II, and it has the same reliability as the original. This time, I got an "Invisible Shield" for it so as to avoid scratching. So it's all good.
Pros: battery life, durable, ease of use, menus

Great Phone

I've had the original LG Shine for almost 2 years now and I love it. I started out commited to not dropping it but that lasted about a month. I've dropped it in dirt, snow, sand, on pavement and tile (it looks super beat up now) but it still works amazingly!! Texting is sort of a pain since I have used full keyboards on friends phones but it works and it gets the job done. It has never frozen on me ever and I am frequent texter (at least 20 messages every day) Recently it has started to turn off on me randomly (maybe twice a week) but I give that glich to old age. The videos are nice quality and the pictures look great too. I love that you can add ringtones to each person and give them pictures as well. Very easy to personalize this phone. I charge my phone often and I have gotten through 2 full days before it died on me due to low battery. I suggest you buy a screen protector if you are going the toss the phone in a bag or purse and go. Mine got rather scratched up before I protected it.
My only cons to the phone are that in some videos I must have put my hand over the speaker because the sound is super muffled. So that's more my own fault than the phones. But poor microphone placement on their part. Also you can't lock messages to save when you delete the inbox. And sometimes ringtones I have gotten from other people are super quiet but that could also be the poor MP3 quality.
All in all a great phone that will last you a loooooong time!!
Pros: battery life, camera/video quality, durable, ease of use, good for texting
Cons: small keys, volume level

It's nice for a little while

I've had the first LG Shine for about a year and a half. So I figure this one's the same? The keys are very loud while texting, although I happen to text better this way than on a keyboard. And it's true that the volume doesn't go very high while talking or on speaker. My worst thing though, is the battery life. It's horrible while you're out wanting to text as much as possible but have to worry about the battery dying so fast. Charging it has been difficult for me. I've even gotten a new charger because mine cracked somehow. And it still doesn't charge unless you push and hold it in a certain way. It's ridiculous. It scratches VERY easily. But suprisingly holds up if you drop it on hard ground. The contacts list and tools are helpful and easy to use. But unless you're a begginer getting a phone in middle school, I wouldn't really recommend this...
Pros: durable, good for texting, menus, tools
Cons: battery life, volume level, loud keys, scratches easily
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So So Sleek!

This is a pretty good phone. The whole mirror thing is really more-so an average reflection. It's sleek and different, it's also very attractive. The buttons take time getting used to it's not a qwerty. I also love the flash that comes with the camera. The camera is 2.0 mp which is okay for a phone. Very smooth sliding. The phone can get dirty pretty quick and leave prints. Overall good cute phone!
Pros: appearance

Best Phone For Everyone!
on July 11, 2010

I love this phone! I've had the original for 2 years now and it still works brand new! It's perfect if you're one of those people that tend to drop stuff or aren't that careful. Mine still works perfect even though it drops out of my pocket everytime I go biking. The only problem I have is that you can't save certain messages, you can't add a picture and certain ringtone to a contact unless you save it to the phone and not to the smartchip, and you can't zoom in or out using the camera. The screen is very handy for a mirror; although that makes it hard to see in sunlight. Other than those minor problems this is a must have phone for everyone, stylish, sleek, and cool! My (teenage) daughter and I both have this phone and her and my friends always comment on how cool they are! Get this phone!
Pros: battery life, durable, ease of use, good for texting, menus, speaker, tools, light, not bulky
I would recommend this to a friend!
