Great overall product

This tv has a great picture and sound. With the internal speakers you don't have to add a sound sytem because these are just fine. I did anyways and added a sound bar because I like my action movies load and clear. The picture is incrediblle and for the price you can't beat a Philips. This tv is just as good and better than tv's costing hundreds more.

Really poor quality

Noisy, blanks out, power supply problems.
I also have a 27" phillips which lasted only about 10 hours and the power supply failed. The 47" makes squealing noises on some channels.
No more phillips, magnavox, philco, sylvania products for me.

Clarity with great sound

I did a lot of research before selecting my Philips television. The reviews on this unit were high compared to competitors of similar size screens. I would definately recommend this product or do as I did, research the televisions and you'll find it is highly recommended by others. The picture quality is very clear, even with fast moving pictures. The sound is the same quality as an expensive stereo system. I considered purchasing a surround sound when I bought this television but now I'm glad I didn't waste the money. I have dish reception and a DVD player. Both were simple to connect and easily navigated between units.
Pros: picture quality, sound quality, simplicity of use
Cons: should have purchased sooner
