Bought a new house with this oven

Preheat takes too long. Can the heat be adjusted? Cooks hot and recipes have to be watched closely. Some are done on the outside but not completely throughout.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Miss my light feature to check food from outside.

I bought this product last month. I like this model but miss the light feature to view food while cooking from outside. The light comes on only when you open the door. My old GE oven did have a light feature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NO LIGHT TO VIEW CONTENTS WITHOUT OPENING DOOR

Oven falls short for glancing at baking items without having to open door to get light to go on...letting heat escape. Loss of heating efficiency and inconvenient. Poor design--how could this have been overlooked? Very disappointed in GE.

I like the new oven I just wish that had the lower heating coil where I could see it but it works great

I am pleased with the oven, only wish it had a light that you could turn on while baking to see how foods looks withou opening door, old one had it I loved it

PROS:
- Looks very good!
- Bakes like a PRO!! Excellent.
- Very simple to operate.
I like everything about the oven, with a few exceptions...
CONS:
- Worst Con - Cannot switch light on unless you open the door??? Real bad idea - you cannot open the door during cooking - for successful baking!!!!!
- Advertised as 'Easy-Fit...although it replaced a 30" oven there is a 4" open gap at the top of the opening?? I now have to put spacers underneath...and then find something black to close the gap at the bottom.
- Steam Clean not very effective - doesn't warm up enough.
- A little slow to heat up.
- Door not closing fully on the top right side...maybe it will 'wear-in'??

Easy to operate, easy to clean. Love the extra wide inside that fits all my big cookie sheets. Only drawback I've found is no way to turn inside light on without cracking door.
