Not what I expected.

Wall oven looks beautiful, but disappointed with how it works and lack of information on how to use. It doesn't have a small important feature to me that I had in my 12 year old oven, no light feature when door is closed, you have to open oven for light to go on. Preheat takes too long to get to desired temperature even with nothing in oven.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't buy this model !

Don't buy this model ! We renovated our kitchen with all GE appliances because we trusted the brand. However, we installed this model before we realized it has no oven light control on the exterior - what were they thinking! You have to open the over door to see cooking in progress, which can affect the baking. I'm mad that I spent this much for it, plus installation, and GE didn't get the basics right. This wasn't disclosed when shopping online and in store.

I bought this about a year ago and hate it so much I want to write this review to warn others off. I refer to it as my moron appliance. What do I hate about it?
1. It takes FOREVER to preheat, and while it's preheating, the display just says 'PrE' the whole time, instead of giving the temperature readings as it warms up so you know how close you are to the temperature you want.
2. There is no way to turn the interior light on while the door is closed, so to check on anything in the oven you have to open the door and let the heat escape. Just plain idiotic.
3. There is no self-clean function. There's something called steam clean, but when I used it the water never evaporated into steam and the oven was not a bit cleaner than before.
4. To set the temperature, you always have to start at 350 and go up or down from there. I often bake at 425 or hotter, so I almost always have to stand there with my finger on the button. My old oven automatically started at the temperature I had last used. Duh!
5. The timer keeps on bleating until you walk over and turn it off. Fine if you are using it to time something you have to take out of the oven anyway, a real pain in the neck if you are using it to time something else in the kitchen and you have to stop what you're doing, walk over and hit the button to stop it from beeping.
I think that's it, but if I had more time to write this review, I'd probably think of other things I don't like.

No oven light switch!!

We installed this and haven't used it yet. I'm tempted to send it back as there is no light switch to see inside the oven during cooking. I didn't even know that was a possibility that it might not have one. Who makes an oven without one?!? I'm so frustrated by this. Our old GE oven was awful and we only bought another GE because it fit the space. This is a really odd design move. Not cool.

absolutely inane to not have a light switch

IT is not in your best interest to purchase this model of oven. It has no light switch! Can you imagine how embarrassed the designers feel in this omission? Don't share their embarrassment in having to tell your guests that you bought an oven with no light switch. If you have any choice in the matter - buy something else.

Disappointed as a GE fan

I’m really disappointed in this oven.
It does not have an oven light while baking. That makes the oven unusable. One should’nt open the oven door while baking.
This oven also takes to long to heat up and the fan stays on far too long after you’re done cooking.
Usually GE products are solid, this one is a big disappointment. I wish I could return it for a better GE model.

Overall this is a great oven! We have it in our basement as a 2nd oven. Looks great, great controls and everything cooks as expected. Wish it had a better self clean option.
