Nice oven

I've used this oven for a couple weeks now. It was easy enough to install. It is heavy, so it took two people to lift into wall opening. The fans are very quiet. The oven has a regular timer and it also has a bake timer that bakes for a length of time and then shuts off. I've cooked several batches of cookies using the multi convection option. A few of the cookies on the edge were browner than the others, but still a great time saver. Cook time was the same as for regular bake. It does take longer to preheat since the bake coils are within the walls of the oven, but I just turn the oven on closer to when I start a recipe rather than at the end and all works out fine. Overall very pleased so far.

Wonderful to use!

Been using this 1-1/2 months and it has been working great. I really like the racks as they slide in and out so easily. Heatup time is OK - leave yourself 10 minutes if you're planning out your time. It is not loud, convection cooks nicely. I was surprised that convection does not cook a lot faster than my old GE standard oven but you will need to adjust some recipes. The even heating makes baking better.

First item baked

The first item baked after install was frozen buttermilk biscuits which came out perfect (as per the bags convection oven"" instructions). Will try regular oven skills tonight by baking a family secret recipe for Sour Cream Softies cookies.

I owned a convection oven previously and always had trouble fitting pans in. This has the convection oven but the size is bigger.

I've had my oven only a few weeks but am so pleased. Much bigger inside even though the same width as my old one. The lines are so clean and it's so easy to use.

Love the oven. The convection works great and is so quite you have a hard time knowing if it is running.

Life Altering

Changed my life. I can now eat. I was told without the required sustinence the body breaks down and turns off. This oven allowed me to continue existing. 4 stars because the cooking temps on convection take a little time to get used to.

Don't trust the dimensions or other specs.

I bought this oven to replace a 19-year-old unit that had failed. That unit was slightly higher, so I was concerned about cutout height and checked the specs carefully. The specs show the unit's total height is 30 3/16". My cutout height is 29 7/8". So, I calculated that while it would not have the full 1" overlap at top and bottom, with the right height spacer rails installed underneath, the overlap would be 3/16" at the top, and 0" (even) at the bottom, which I could live with. After installation (including the bottom white trim that's supplied), I had a gap at both the top and the bottom. It turns out the actual height of the unit is not 30 3/16' but 28 3/4", a difference of 1 and 7/16". So the top and bottom gaps add up to 1 and 1/4". This is in hardwood custom cabinetry, so it will take some doing to get additional trim made to fill those gaps and match the cabinets. It's not the dealer's fault, it's GE's. I've requested that the dealer contact the GE factory rep to see if they will cover my additional installation costs that result from their publication of significantly incorrect specs. Bottom line: buyer beware. If a simple tape-measurable dimension is wrong (not only on the website but in the printed literature supplied with the unity and elsewhere), then you can't trust any other physical or performance specification.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
