the controls are a little tricky, difficult to change temp, there is no visible timer, you can set it but I dont see it running. the exhaust seems to come into the kitchen and not to the upper vent above the oven.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wonderful oven, good temp, lots of options

Oven cooks wonderfully. No issues with heat, preheat cycle is fast. Cooks even and the convection fan works great.

Sorry GE the preheat is exceptionally long. And after less then 8 years of infrequent use, the door would not open. Now I am trying to get it repaired.

GE ruined ovens with their minimum temperature

I'd like to say that I have mostly GE products and love the company. This GE oven is highly limited for me for one main reason. The minimum "cook" temp. cannot be overridden. This makes it impossible to use for so many purposes. With my previous older model GE, I was able to cook meat to a specific temperature without having to monitor it closely. I could set my steak in and the temp at 130 and have a perfect rare steak. I could set the temperature to 110 to dehydrate foods on convection mode. I could temper chocolate trays between from 120 slowly bringing it down. I will never buy another GE oven as long as this problem exists. There are many other low temp uses for an oven, these are just my regulary weekly uses.

The oven baking and convection baking temperature can be adjusted up to 35ºF hotter or down to 35ºF cooler. You can view more information on page 8 of the owner's manual at the link below:
