Good washer but sensitive controls

Washer seems to work well, but the whitest whites setting did not work when received and also the steam setting. Had to have 2 control boards replaced and this is a new washer, not good. We do alot of laundry with having two girls in our family and need a easy to operate and well built washer. I hope the 2 control boards are not a sign of what is to come.

I am in love with my new Whirlpool washer and dryer. I have had problems with past purchases so I was skeptical about this new set. it is easy to use, the clothes come out cleaner, the dryer is efficient, and I am amazed at how little water the washer uses. I recommend both Whirlpool products a 100%!

This is my 2nd duet washer. The last one was great. It lasted 10.5 years with a household of 5 and washing nearly everyday it held up great and when I stacked the washer and dryer it gave me more room in my laundry room. This washer cleans even better the last one. All of my appliances in my house are now Whirlpool. The last longer than other brand names that I have owe and do a better job than more expensive brands. This is the "working man's brand". I love this washer because I can do more clothes at once and it saves money, time and water. If you have a family this is a MUST HAVE. It is worth EVERY PENNY!!!

After my old washing machine of 10 years decided to fail flooding my home and causing upto $20,000 in losses I decided a replacement rather than a repair was needed!! I chose this Whirlpool machine base on looks and price and have been more than pleased with my decision. Unfortunately the first machine that was delivered had a fault and was extremely noisy but was replaced without question. The second machine that arrived has lived up to expectations and provides multiple cycles of varying wash length which is nice and also the option to add a garment once the cycle has started. The drum is extremely large and will accommodate a king size bedding load plus more! The only feature I feel that is missing is a half load option but can live with that.

We have owned the Whirlpool duet steam front-loading washer for about 6 months now, and we absolutely love it. We are a family of four, living in wet and muddy Oregon, with boy children who play outdoor field sports. Needless to say - we deal with a lot of muddy, grassy, really dirty clothing, towels, and shoes. So far this washer has truly been a godsend. I used to have to do four to five loads of laundry each day to keep up with laundry. Now I find myself waiting around for a day or two until I have enough laundry to do two or three full loads! I love it.I always wash my sheets, towels, socks, underwear, and the boys white t-shirts using the deep steam clean option. A few stains which we had on our towels from before, which I never thought would come out, are now gone. Our towels and bedding look new again. Also, I do not wash those items using fabric softener, yet they come out super soft.My husband is a big guy and so his jeans are also big and heavy. I used to be able to do just one or two pairs of his jeans per load in our old set. Now I do four pairs of my husbands jeans plus one or two of my boys jeans all at once. And they, too, come out soft and super clean. I don't even pretreat grass stains anymore like I did before. The washer is very quiet, mostly, unless it is on a high spin cycle setting. We adjusted the feet because when the guy came to install it (Sear's guy's) I don't think they set it up right, and at first it was kind of noisy and knocking. Once we adjusted the feet ourselves, it's been super quiet and no knocking. The washer is very simple to use but at first can be kind of intimidating if you've been using older top-loading machines for years like I had. I spent about two days studying the user's manual and just getting myself familiar with the machine. Now after these several months I feel very comfortable with it. Our kids even use the machine and, being boys, they really like the buttons.... of course. :)I am concerned about the other reviews which expressed concern over parts breaking or wearing out after only about a year. I really hope that does not happen with ours. So far, so good, though.I would - and have - recommend this washer and the matching dryer to families who need to do a lot of laundry and who have very dirty laundry. I don't think this set would be that great for single people or those without children. When our kids are grown we plan to pass this set on (if we still have it, hopefully we will) and purchase a smaller machine for when it's just my husband and I. But for now with our messy boys and our family this machine is perfect!

This product has great features, is quiet, & so energy & water efficient. My clothes come out cleaner & dryer so I have less drying time. My utility bill went down the first month I bought it. I did not buy the pedestal & wish I had but did buy the cover for the top so I have no issues with things falling between or behind my set. I only wish I had bought them earlier. Highly recommend.

This is a replacement for another Duet washer. This one is much better. A few mor options than the old one, MUCH quieter, fits perfectly on our pedestal.

After a few months now becoming noisy

The washer works fine but now that we've had it a few months it has started to hum and vibrate. There is nothing on it or around it that is causing the noise, it the machine itself. Frustrating as the quite running was a major influence on our buying the machine. It has also started to develop a bit of the odor you hear about with front load washers.
