Going Down Hill

I have been a Turbow Tax user for many years, and in each of the last few years the program has become less and less user friendly. It is very hard to go back and make changes; you make assumptions without asking and then block changes; you didn't ask about mortgage interest..
Can you recommend another program more suited to my needs

Turbo Tax Basic

Whats good? Well, it allows me, after much machination, to see how stuff affects my tax.
I have been using TT for over a decade. This current release is clumsy and clunky. Switching from forms view to interview took over 5 seconds, and I have a fast computer. Plus Quicken is always asking me for personal data. I should be able to opt out once and thats it.
Why does TT insist on printing 7 extra pages when I print my return (bunch of stuff plus 4 1040 ES? Here it is 10/13, and it prints the ES forms for Q1, Q2, and Q3, even though the dates have passed. That should be an option.
This version has at least one mistake on 1040 K1 where it confuses Line 11F with line 10. That said, it did find a double entry which was made on 11 but TT said 10.

Great Tool

Great tool. Can't believe I waited so long to get started with Turbo Tax. My wife got a free copy of the Basic software, and it generated refunds that I didn't know we were eligible to receive. I'm sold for life.

Turbotax 2009 - a Good Buy

I bought the basic version of turbotax and found it helpful. I'm glad I bought it. The step by step process simplifies the whole effort. The 'remembred' data from previous years is great. I especially liked the ability to access my investment broker's site for transaction info.
I would thoroughly recommend this program to anyone needing to file an average type of return.
