Very good, easy to use

Overall, easy to use. I've been using TurboTax for years and I like the way the data carries over from year to year, so I know if something is not right.

A VERY pleasant surprise!

I have used other tax software before; thanks to a crash, I couldn't use its previous forms. The software this nameless company sent me this year was for the MUCH more elaborate version, for use by landlords and heavy investors. I went out to get TurboTax Basic instead.
Not only did I save money, I saved grief. The program escorted me through all the options and entry forms. It included explanations about almost everything. The one minor problem I had was with sales of my mutual funds this last year. I ended up calling the fund's help line to learn about "average cost" and where it could be found on their forms - that was the one panic moment I had.
Perhaps in the future, more mutual funds, banks and credit unions will enable their data for direct entry to TurboTax. This would save the sweat of lost forms or inaccurate entry.
I am looking forward to using TurboTax Basic next year...unless I win the Lotto or something, where I may need the higher-power version. Thanks, guys!

Poblems occurred whenever you attempted to backtrack to a section after you were at return's end...
...then you would need to begin again as if you had never been there.
also we had problem with the Consent Form...we did not want to allow consent, but could not erase the "Yes"
choice.

Big Blue Done again

Instructions asked if I had received a goverment check in November or December of 2008, or January of 2009. I checked my bank account and saw that I had not received a check then. So, I clicked on the NO block after I checked those months. As it turned out, after being rejected, I did get a check but it was in May 2009. So, I corrected the entry and re-submitted my return. Now we will see if IRS accepts the return.
