some problems

In easy step, no information was asked for that relates to the "hope credit" or similar items. I was only told that I had made an error when TT filled in the lines on my tax return!
The IRS explanations were impossible to understand. In this case TT should have figured it out by asking questions related to this topic.

Only one improvement needed

Turbo Tax could be significantly improved is there was a way to easily compare joint vs individual tax returns, and then letting the user choose the best one. As it stands, the user needs to create an individual form for each person (assuming two people) and a joint one for both. All the data needs to be entered at least twice, and when data changes, the user needs to keep at least two forms in sync. One possible solution is to collect all the data into one repository and then have the user select the data items for each form from that repository. For example, my wife has school expenses, so I create an individual form for me and her and a joint one for both. I need to enter the school expenses in hers and the joint one. I need to do the same data entry operations exactly the same for both, or the comparison won't be valid. Why not just enter it once in a repository, and select it for each form. This tends towards implementing a relational database.

Turbo Tax was very easy to use. I just wish more Turbo Tax Deluxe copies were available and that it was more clear that Turbo Tax Deluxe includes Turbo Tax State. If this was more clear, I would have spent the extra money to purchase Turbo Tax Deluxe because it saves the inconvenience of purchasing a state product online.

Greatly improved over last year

Helpful: sort the names of the recipients of contributions in alpha order. Make explicit the way to bring up the worksheet for each (or did I miss it). I would prefer including a note about the object of the cash donations on the line with the amount. At leaset in a worksheed. On some of the longer pages it would be nice to have the header (eg. 08 09) in a separate frame so that it remains visible when you page down.
