I was unable to add my charitable donations though I have in the past and other items in the section worked easily. Not only that but the internet help site was of no value and I was unable to locate a phone number for help. Fortunately I didn't itemize so it didn't affect my 'bottom line'.

Step-by-Step Query not as Intuitive as Pre-2009
on April 7, 2010

BASIC was still good, but not as good as previous years. I had to check the entries Turbo put on forms to determine the meaning of some queries. EX: Re deductible mortage Points, i'm asked for points NOT on 1099, but not told that prorated points from mortage several years ago are automatically deducted by Turbo. Because they were NOT on the 1099, i listed the prorated points in response to the query, resulting in a double deduction. There was another similar poorly worded query that we discovered by checking the results on a form. ALSO, for inventory & COGS query, the Personal Use category shoud be expanded to include Inventory gifted as Marketing Samples & Inventory Ruined in Production. (I make jewelry). Don't they reduce inventory AND get expensed- both? (tho not in COGS?) i think 1 sentence extra in the query OR in the Help could clarify how to handle... ALSO after entering donations of clothing, etc to some of my long list of charities & completing that section, 2009 entry still says i need to provide the data. That said, I wouldn't use any product but Turbo Tax Basic & hope they maintain & improve their ease of use & high quality

Form 1116 didn't pull information on foreign partnership well with form 2555 and schedule E, duplicating foreign source income. I had to develop a somewhat sloppy work-around.

If the IRS corrects your return that you send in, make sure you correct it in your return for the same year at home. Otherwise when you import information from a previous year for the next year you are importing incorrect numbers.

If I want to send what you consider "incomplete returns" let me send it. There are special situations that have no answer. Why do I need a nick name? Why anoverall rating. I did not want to provide!!!!
