Good as every year

For years, I did all my taxes by hand and was quite satisfied with that method. But as my finacial life grew along with my family through the years, I tried another tax prep program in the late '80s (Parson's Tax Edge, now taken over by TurboTax). Initially, I saw no advantage over doing my taxes by hand and resumed my "hand" work. In the mid 90's I gave Parson's another try and have been using the program, and now TurboTax, consistently since then. I've never had any problems with the program; it's always been easy, reliable and accurate. Downloading the updates is tedious unless you have a hi-speed internet connection. (Using dial-up alone is very frustrating, and I never received the update CD that I had requested several years ago. Luckily I was able to suffer through my internet download problems that year and went to hi-speed prior to the next tax year.
I would recommend TurboTax to anyone and everyone. I can't imagine paying big $$'s to a paid preparer when TT makes it so easy to follow along and cover everything.)

Best Tax software i've used

I like the fact that previous year information transfers so easily thereby reducing the amount of input. I prefer the basic version. I'm not that crazy about the videos in the upgaded versions, they take too long.

Makes filing a snap

I've been using Turbo Tax for years and probably won't change. The interview process gets better every year. However, there were a couple of nag screens where you were prompted to purchase an upgraded product. I didn't think that was appropriate. Additionally, the program initially calculated an underpayment penalty. I think it then should have automatically kicked me into an interview for Form 2210 so I could eliminate the penalty through those allowable methods. Instead, I had to use the Search Topics option to access the interview for Form 2210. I was allowed to eliminate the penalty but I think it was just a matter of luck that I noticed it in the first place. The program could have helped out a little more with that item. But overall, very satisfied.
