Difficulties w 2009 TT due to input errors

I had difficulty getting farm rental income -- government payments -- to work correctly for my 25% ownership of a farm that is both rented out for some crops and that every so often tember is cut and sold. I treat it as a rental farm even though it is something more than that.
I also get US Dept of Agriculture payments for crops that were previously grown on this farm (Tobacco). Based on bad input on my part, TT was double counting some of these government payments. The only way I could correct this was to go into the forms section and delete the form where this input error was made. When I tried to find it with the interview method, it could not be found. Correcting errors (in this case made by me) should be made easier -- or explained better, so that it is not so difficult to find the solution for making the correction. I only do this exercise once a year, and that does not help remember what was done last year.

Gets easier every year

I've used Turbo-Tax for years. As an accountant, I feel very confident in my returns. It is accurate and it is very easy. The only thing I do not like about Turbo-Tax is that some of the screens do not fit on the screen and require you to roll them down a very short space in order to proceed. They need to fix this.

I have used Turbo Tax since I can remember . It gets better every year. I find it reliable, easy to follow, and accurate. Also, it is easy to do "trials" , or "what if''s" without losing information.

I spent nearly an hour trying to figure out how to prevent repayment of excess tax (line 73a, Form 1040). IF there is a way to say you want the overpayment left with the IRS (for example, as an alternative to quarterly payments next year), it has been well disguised --

I've used turbo tax for years. It's simple step by step instructions are easy to use. The import option saves an enormous amount of time. As with any do-it-yourself program, there are definitions and categories that can be difficult to interpret.

TurboTax Basic is all I need for my very small business! The amount of behind-the-scenes calculations and form-finding performed by Turbo Tax is absolutely indispensable! Turbo Tax makes this process a breeze! Without it, tax filing would be a nightmare!

Overall much better than prior years

i've used TurboTax about 15 years - always the interview or step-by-step. They change the interface every year (which is annoying) except that this year they got it right. I like the interface. I also really like the online help. I found lots of tax answers which I never found before. It was a much smoother year than usual. The flags are great.
On the down side, I didn't find a way to see the form that corresponds to the field I'm completing in the step-by-step. Sometimes I like to see both and some years that was possible. Also, the processes for downloading from financial institutions were changed so that I couldn't select what I wanted to download. However, entering the data manually was pretty painless (since I couldn't download since there was too much data).
