Some nice features this year

I appreciated the importing of stock sale information to Schedule D, one of the most time-consuming parts.
I liked to have the option of switching back and forth between the interview and the streamlined approach like in previous years. Couldn't figure out how to do that.
Foreign tax credit always seems to cause the most errors and be the most difficult to resolve. It would be great if they streamlined that. the vast majority of the people probably have a mutual fund with foreign stock holdings and it's not easy even to do this

The 2009 version of Turbo Tax was horrendous to use. The initial interview process has no reference to IRS schedule line items. Once you've answered the questions, TurboTax accumulates dollar values into groups that make no sense & eliminates one's ability to see the detail without going back through all the questions again. Waste of time. The explanations provided in the little highlighted tip/help sections reads as if it were written by Microsoft. Of absolutely no use. The help uses neither language from IRS tax forms or instructions, nor does it attempt to clarify what the IRS tax forms or instructions say. I recognize TurboTax doesn't want to be in the position of "offering tax advice" unless we pay the extra $49.95, but they could at least not try to obfuscate the directions.
I think going back to pen, paper, and an instruction booklet would be faster and more clear. I'll give H&R Block (formerly Tax Cut) a shot next year (it can't be any worse). In fact, I'll be doing just that (pen & paper) for my federal return (have to file my daughter's using turbotax because I waited too long. Getting a refund on my federal so I'll not file my federal until later) because it looks like the "we'll pick the best choice for you" relative to education credits vs tuition expenses, doesn't really pick the best choice. I still have to work it out manually to find out, but because I can't run the various scenarios in the software, I can't tell unless I do it manually. It's been 23 years since I got my accounting degree & I haven't worked in tax, but I believe software should make things easier and clearer, not hidden, obfuscated, and difficult to track.

I have used computer programs since 1996 to do my taxes. Every year they just get easier to understand and more user friendly. I would recommend this software to anyone who feels confident in doing their own taxes.

I have been using TT I think since it first came out.
1. It keeps getting harder to figure out how to use it, not easier.
2. Keep the Forms Method COMPLETELY SEPERATE from the "Tour" Method and stop jumping from the forms method back to the Tour method.
