I'll never use TurboTax again

I've used TurboTax for 15-20 years. I'll never use it again, it's just become too expensive.
The last few years I've been using it just for my kid's returns. Simple stuff.
I bought TurboTax Basic, but didn't realized it didn't include the State. So ended up paying $85.09 by the time I added the State.
Forget that, my accountant is cheaper.

2009 TURBO Tax basic

Switched from Dell to Macbook, file conversion functioned and 2009 form was able to pull in data from previous year

2009's speed is terrible.

I've used the PC version of Turbo Tax since 2003. This years PC edition was by far the slowest. It took forever to install. It was much slower loading than last years. I haven't changed computers. It seems that in their effort to allow entering taxes on-line they've made one speed fits all -- slow.
The screens and data entry were fine, but the speed issue has me considering another product for next year after 8 years of turbo tax use.

Good product

As usual, this product makes doing taxes almost painless. Minor glitch with the interest section, but it was easily fixed. The install was about 20 minutes, due to the .net upgrade, but still took less time than a drive to a CPA would. Price at $25 for the basic is about $5 more than it should cost, but worth it anyway.

The interface appears easier. However, it seems like the final printed return for my files does not have all of the working papers that I recall prior years having. Maybe it's in more expensive versions. Overall, though, I enjoy this product and have been using it for several years.

TurboTax is so easy to use, that even folks that have never done their own taxes before can use it. It will walk you through each step of tax preparation and provide guidance in those areas that a decision is required. I wouldn't use anything else!
