Totally worth it

I've used TurboTax or many years now, and it only takes about an hour to fill out, and it's so easy pulling in last years information from the saved file. Can't recommend it enough!

The software was easier to use than previous years and the explanations for each item were easier to understand. Great job and thanks!

Saves work, but requires $$$ computer

I've relied on Turbo Tax since the mid-80's when it ran on DOS 3.2 and was distributed on 5" floppies. I was happy with its "Forms Only" user interface back then, and for the most part, that's how I use it now, Since that time, I've been compelled to purchase a Windows 98, Windows 2000 and now a Mac Mini in order to run it - so despite its discounted cost at online E-retailers, hardware upgrades to support it have run over a few $K. Despite loud caveats ti the contrary, I've found TT Basic to manage the 3 sole proprietorship businesses and several investment accounts just fine, although imports from Quicken do require very careful perusal to ensure the figures are entered on the correct tax forms. My most recent hiccup was discovery that my capital loss sale of a K-1 partnership held in a brokerage account created duplicate entries on Schedule D and carry forwards. This required me to file an amended return - a process which was not entirely straightforward unless I followed the online video-supported instructions quite closely, which was the only place that I learned that a 1040X could not be E-filed. But no one in his right mind claims that tax preparation is easy and bug-free - not even the IRS! And this is what keeps TurboTax in business, and guys like me dependent on it decade after decade.

Still the easiest way to get job done.

I have been using TT for years in PC version and later in the Mac version. Always been very easy to use and reliable. Last year, I was irritated by changes in policy regarding creating multiple returns (because I often did returns for my kids) so I tried the leading competitor. It worked, but it was not as easy or as intuitive, so I am back to 'old reliable'.

Only two things

1) Where "mileage" is requested, please clarify whether the request is for the number of miles or the calculated amount of money.
2)This Revue page takes way too long to load and pulls you through a scary series of sites as it does so. Not reassuring as to overall product.
