The Step-by-Step process used to be tedious for experienced users, but was better in 2009, and has been improved even more in 2009.

IVE USED TURBO TAX FOR YEARS, MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK AT HOW YOU DID IT THEN. I THINK IT WAS BETTER.

Reliable and Accurate Many Years

We have used this since it first came out and have NEVER had any problems, calls from IRS, and the ease of use is unbelievable.
There are other products but none as good or reliable as Turbo Tax, especially if you have itemized deductions.
Our son uses it for his highly successful business and prefers it over his CPA!

Soso income tax program

When I entered my retirement pay from the 1099-R form, it did not correctly enter the taxable amount. Since I did not find this out until I had sbmitted my tax return, I had to file an amended return. This is really confusing. I still don't know exactly what I am supposed to do. I hope you can improve this situation.

TT09 Basic was a mixed bag

Errors found
1) Bad value for 2009 Carryover WS for 2008 AGI. This had to be correct because the AGI was used as a PIN for the 2009 e-file.
2) Found 2 cases where value was Overwritten, but did not look that way (ie, in red)

Good features - Used download of tax data from two companies. This was very useful since both of these had complex tax data that would have been very difficult by hand. However, this download had some problems such as duplicating certain forms that was caused by already having a form present before the download.

I have used Turbo tax for many years and each year you make improvements. This year was quite different from last year, but I like it. I look forward to using Turbo tax many times in the future
