I'm 38 and have always been afraid of doing my own taxes for fear of mistakes and then end up owing. turbo Tax took the fear away and put me in control of my taxes....the way it should be.

Once your technical support representative got me my new forms I was able to print out my return. I also liked the automatic preparation of the 2010 year 1040-ES Payment Voucher Forms.

2009 Review

I have used TurboTax now for several years, in fact I used it's predecessor Parsons Tax Edge! I enjoy the ability to transfer the information to the current tax year from the previous tax year. I would strongly urge Intuit to leave all the pushing of additional products to a separate page, rather than have to stumble through all them throughout the process. Otherwise, If you continue to advertise to me, then please reduce the price of the product!!

Very annoying

On Schedule C-EZ of Form 1040, Part I, Line C says "Business name. If no separate business name, leave blank." So since I don't have a business name (I just use my own name), I tried to leave it blank. TurboTax wouldn't allow that, and kept coming back and coming back to it. At the end, it wouldn't allow me to e-file because there was nothing in that line. I had to mail my forms in.

turbo tax basic 2009

I had virtually no problems with 2009's basic Turbo Tax. Only difficulty I had was figuring out how to apply my refund to next year's taxes -- turns out, you go to view forms, pick the 1040, click on 'help - for this form, go to the line way at the bottom of the help form where it references either line 72 or 74 (I forget) -- it tells you what worksheet you need. To get to it, go to the line they reference on the form and click on the line where you'd enter the amount -- a magnifying glass will appear in the box, clicking it should take you to the worksheet. Enter the amount there and it's added to your form 1040.
