This washer doesn't impress. Maybe I was spoiled by the front load Whirlpool I had for many years but this top load does not get laundry clean and it is very picky about how laundry is loaded. If I want something really clean I have to wash it twice. It has easily doubled the amount of time it takes to do laundry.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

other bought both the washer/dryer back in April 2014 and in 5 months I have had the washer repaired four times and I have to call them out again. I'm constantly getting the code UL. We are a family of 6, my wife, myself and 4kids ages 12 to 1yr old its evident this machine isn't capable of handling large family.

Now, to qualify my statement, I have bought this washer (and dryer, combo) twice only because I sold my first house and the new buyers wrote the appliances into the contract. So I moved into my new house and bought the newer versions of this Cabrio pair and had them installed immediately.We are a family of two adults and two small children. Like most people, I don't have a ton of time to do laundry. I can save all my laundry up for the week and get it done in about four loads on a Saturday afternoon.It fits our king size comforter. It fits a ton of towels. It has all the settings you could want and need. I love being able to pause it and throw in some laundry that I forgot or fell out on the way to the laundry room. I love that it senses and adjusts for my load size.It looks nice and sleek, too.Upon starting it can be a little bit noisy, but otherwise it's fairly quiet.I never want to move again, but if I had to I would either bring this set with me or buy it all over again.

Have read the instruction manual, but there is no option for a cold wash, cold rinse. Tried just turning off the hot water, and the washer would not run. But more importantly, everything comes out more wrinkled than a 100 year old raisin! I do a lot of ironing, even permanent press, but with this washer and dryer, EVERYTHING needs pressing - even knits and sweats! Can't wait until it breaks down so I can get a new one, but I don't expect that to be happening anytime soon. - HATE IT!

I'm very happy with this purchase so far. The controls are user friendly and the options are very comprehensive. I haven't had this machine very long, but it's been a perfect appliance for my household so far.

Does not meet expectations

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio this unit to replace an older Whirlpool washer that worked well, but the transmission went kapluk. We were told all the good things like, large capacity, no agitator, less water usage. What we find is the loads have to be smaller. With just 2 king size sheets and four pillow cases the items wind up like a canon ball, the washer has to be stopped and the ball unwrapped. to completed the wash. The washer constantly stops if the loads are large, because the wash moves to one side and unbalances the machine and again has to be unwrapped before restarting. We have to use smaller rather then larger loads in order to keep the washer running. Smaller loads means more loads means more water, where is the saving. It seems you can only buy the agitation in the small machines. Whirlpool should go back to the drawing board and rethink agitation.

Fantastic washer. Clothes come out super clean, costs less to run, and is very quiet. Large capacity. Energy efficient. Excellent variety of features. Great stability with minimal vibration. Can be a little noisy at times. Overall, love it!
