We bought the Whirlpool? Cabrio? Platinum 4.8 cu. ft. HE Top Load Washer with Greater Capacity a few months ago; we like the large capacity although as being 5'2" tall I laughed when I couldn't reach a sock at the bottom of the tub.... The sound it makes is quiet but a little unusual sounding. I love the glass top but have noticed that something has scratched it a bit, so be careful!

Should have NO STAR. I HATE this washer!!!My clothes are dirty when they come out EVERY time! there is NOTHING that I like about this washer!!

Finally had to replace my 15 year A |& washing machine. I find this machine doesn't clean nearly as well as the old one, but it sure tangles them up and wrinkles them. Black pants put in with dust on them (ie. from rubbing against car) come out with the same dust spots on them, and the dirt seems to have multiplied while being washed. I have to take a wet cloth and scrub them after taking them out of the machine. It is definitely quiet in comparison to the old machine, however. You don't want to run it before going to bed though, because the loud beeping when it's done is sure to wake you up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this washer about a month ago and was a little hesitant to purchase a high efficiency machine because I was used to having an agitater in the middle. I must say that I am very much satisfied with my purchase. The clothes are clean and the washer cuts down on water usage as well as energy. I would most definitely recommend it.

Not sure I'll ever like front loaders, especially if #whirlpool keeps making machines like the #cabrio top load model. It takes beating daily from our athletic family of 5. It gets our clothes clean, while saving water and running quietly. I highly recommend this huge capacity washer.
