Constant cleaning is a waste of time and vineger

Sorely disappointed in this machine. Brews good coffee but requires constant cleaning and you can't brew until you run it thru a cleaning cycle. I am now trying to get it to run thru the cycle and it won't cooperate. I guess I am in the market for a new machine, a non mr coffee brand. Also the programming function stopped working just after purchase and the clock well you can guess how well that DOESNT work!

Not a Good Coffeemaker

We bought this coffeemaker about a year ago. At one point, the little valve on the bottom of the basket fell off. I was able to find the parts and put them back in place. About a month ago, the LCD display faded to near invisibility. The coffeemaker is also not making strong coffee. Maybe it needs cleaning, but it only gets used every few weeks when we are at our second residence.
I think this is a pretty poor product and would not recommend its purchase.

Cleaning

I bought it 4 months ago and the clean bottom came on so I cleaned it according to the directions in the book and it continues to come on all the time so I clean it again and a few days later it comes on again and I do over again and the same happens. Not happy

I want hot coffee

I bought this coffee maker thinking I'd get hot coffee, 170 degree in the pot, not 200 degrees, and it gets cold fast as the minutes go by. No heating plate?

5 months no longer hot

I got this coffee maker as a wedding gift 5 months ago and loved it. However 5 months later it no longer heats the water as hot as it use to be. Our gasket also is starting to get stretched, presuming from taking the lid off and on to clean out thermal carafe and cannot find a replacement gasket anywhere.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Weak taste coffee

I bought this coffee maker about a month ago and I was impressed by how fast the coffee was being brew but the taste. It was very weak coffee compare to my older mr coffee coffee maker. It would have been a good machine if the strength adjustment was included.

Design Change

We purchased the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew coffee maker a few years ago and loved the design. We just purchased another and upon opening the box, noticed that the packaging was deceptive as the model inside the box has undergone some changes. The water reservoir now has a removable lid vs. a lid that remains on the reservoir with a hinge. The new coffee maker also does not have the " lift and clean filter basket" like our original coffee maker. The packaging for the new coffee maker shows the older design and highlights these two premium features but does not deliver.

Just OK

This coffeemaker has been a disappointment. After a little more than 1 yr. service, the machine does not brew at the max. temp. anymore, making for poor tasting coffee. The reservoir no longer empties completely so I end up with less coffee than anticipated. Finally, the carafe does not keep the coffee hot for more than thirty minutes, after that we have to heat cups in the microwave. For the money we paid, this is a disappointment.
