Love therm carafe, hated huge leak everytime

This only worked without leaking the first few times after we bought. At first I thought the water was a byproduct of the humidity the grinds were holding. Recently I noticed a puddle formed overnight when I loaded the tank with water. I tore open the unit to see if it was a problem I could fix. Sadly it looms like scale and corrosion build ip where the tube meets the heater. We only had this for a little over a year. I do love how the thermal carafe kept coffee hot all day.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Washer pops off the filter basket spring/plug!

This coffee pot is a nice one and I have been satisfied with it for about a year now. The only issue we've had with it is that when we dump the coffee grounds into the trash can, the washer that holds the plug in the filter basket pops off constantly. Where can we get our hands on some replacement washers to fit the basket? Any help? We can't seem to find any online or the mrcoffee website.

Leaking

I bought this Optimal Brew to replace my old model which I had for probably 8-10 years with no problems. It leaked around the bottom from the start and I could not get it to stop. Stupidly, I replaced that with an identical model and it is now doing the same thing. I am out a lot of money for a product that does not operate correctly. Please don’t tell me to contact a customer rep and try to fix it myself. I can not do that…

Speed = better coffee

The faster the water runs through the grounds, the less bitters it will pick up. I'm on my third one. Unfortunately this one the Thermal carafe only lasted about 6 months. Doesn't keep the coffee hot. The one I had before this one had a acrid smell and taste for about 3 months. My brother who loves this coffee maker and is on his third one also had one that the carafe went bad in a short while.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Leaks water everywhere. Every time. It's leaking from inside the machine,and comes out from the bottom. The water is cold and not yet coffee. Perplexed is the term. I dont have the energy to deal with it due to caffeine withdrawal. Hangry applies also because I am unable to suppress my appetite with coffee. This machine is awful.

For a possible fix, please check the hose in the reservoir, make sure it is snug on connection. Also, check the filter basket for any drips down the back of the basket onto the trip arm and warming plate. Ensure to use medium grounds and make sure that the water is not exceeding the max line in the water reservoir. Lastly, please run a cleaning cycle into it if the machine hasn't been cleaned recently.

Poor quality- Broke in less than a month

I had a leaking problem earlier this week. Today the spring and plunger on the brew basket fell off so I cannot use the product. I went on the website to find replacement parts but they don't recognize the model number so no replacement part can be found.

Thermal carafe smells bad

I bought this a month ago, I cleaned the pot every day. Used vinegar, lemon juice and salt, dishwasher detergent, even denture cleaner….can’t get the smell to go away…. It makes the coffee taste funky too

Where do I find details on cleaning this coffee maker? How much vinegar to use etc?? Is the manual on line somewhere? Why do you make it so difficult?
