Great coffee maker for the price

We've have had this for about a year, faster and better then the overpriced oxo in the main kitchen. Warning, if you overfill it...it will leak, my wife did this 3 times when we first got it, after nearly a year of filling it to and not over the max line it hasn't leaked since.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worked great for a year

This has been a great coffee maker until the filter basket spring mechanism broke, really bummed, looking for another one is Discouraging

Good, but seems to be discontinued

Have two of these, one for home, one for vacation property. Works well, no leaks except when one blew out internally when exposed to freezing temps. Need a new seal for carafe lid, or a new lid, lots of luck, no longer available, so now it can be a leaker, unless I buy a new carafe.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Good Coffee Maker, But...

...there are design challenges with the carafe. Firstly, overall, it’s been a very good coffee maker. We like the filtration system and the overall ease and simplicity of use. One caution, be sure the pot is empty before making a fresh pot. The coffee maker does not sense and compare the amount of water in the reservoir and coffee in the pot, so whatever amount of water you put in the reservoir is going into the pot, and if the pot has leftover coffee in it, the pot will overflow. Secondly, to the heart of the challenge with the carafe design. (I say this because it appears we were not the only one with the issue of leaking pot/carafe.) The upper, plastic, portion is prone to cracking at the handle and along the top of the pot. We used the carafe as anyone would, hold the coffee and keep it hot (which it does well) and pour from it. The cracks made for a significant leak, to the point, finally, where it leaked onto and down the counter and dripped onto the surge protector power strip we had the coffee maker plugged into. Fortunately, we noticed a burning electrical smell and the smoke from the power strip and unplugged everything before a fire started.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Brews great, but the display is horrible

It leaks

I bought this in 12/2018. We've had problems with it leaking that started about 9 months after purchase. Mr. Coffee acknowledges that it's a manufacturing defect, but won't replace the unit or fix it because it's out of warranty. The leaking has been a problem for years, as identified in a lot of reviews on a retailer's site. So buyer beware.
The leak is not happening from the carafe. It appears to originate at the bottom of the unit. The water leaking out is clear, so it hasn't passed through the brewing basket yet. It's not a result of not seating the parts correctly. The leaking is substantial - enough to flood the counter and run over the edge to damage cabinets if you don't catch it in time.
It's a bummer, because we love the look of the unit. We also really like how long the carafe keeps the coffee hot. However, we are finding that the carafe is really difficult to clean. There's a buildup of residue, and we can't get it off since the mouth of the carafe is so small.
So overall, I don't recommend this coffee maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

- Check if you can see the hose in the reservoir, make sure it is snug on connection. Please also check the filter basket for any drips down the back of the basket onto the trip arm and warming plate.

Never quite hot enough

We had this for several months before moving to a smaller, 5-cup programmable model also from Mr Coffee. This model never quite got the coffee warm enough for us. And with no burner under the carafe, it didn’t heat further. Since, we’ve gone to a programmable, 5-cup model that has lasted several years now and served us well.
