Love this coffee pot

After buying this coffee pot several years ago, making at least one to two pots a day it finally gave up on me. I came to the website to buy the same one.
It tells me that it needs to be cleaned which it doesn't. I think the heater has gone bad. As long as they offer this great pot, I'll keep buying them.
Also, one of the reviewers had a leaking problem. The only time I had mine leak was when I put too much water in. The reservoir holds more water than the pot it you FILL it up, or leave just a bit of coffee in the pot. Just an fyi.

Keeps it hot for over an hour!!!

I bought my Mr. Coffee with thermal carafe over 4 yrs. ago, I'm looking to buy a second one for the down stairs family room, it has a microwave, small refridg., and the coffee pot will finish our mini kitchen. I wouldn't think of using any other coffee pot, you can't beat the Optimal Brew by Mr. Coffee. Thanks for making such a great coffee maker.

Speedy flavorful brew

We bought one three years ago and liked it so much we bought another two years ago for our summer place. Makes a pot in no time without losing taste. Pot keeps coffee hot for hours. Last cup tastes like the first. Had to replace gasket on pot lid. All in all, the best coffee maker we have owned.

Best coffee maker I've owned so far

I've had this coffee maker for about a year and a half. It makes a very good pot of coffee, but you have to keep it clean. It will flag you with a light after so many brewed pots to run the cleaning cycle. This is necessary, as I let it go too long, and it started taking longer to brew, and the brewed coffee wasn't as smooth. Vinegar won't cut it...gotta buy some of the good stuff.
Having a carafe means your brewed coffee won't get bitter from overheating. It even beeps two hours after you've brewed the pot to let you know it's time to make some more if you want it (after 2-hours, brewed coffee can start going south). It also has the brew temp dialed in just right.
I don't really use the delayed brew feature on any pot, but this one only gets 4-stars because setting the time on it is not as easy as it should be. You have to unplug the pot for x-amount of time to reset the clock back to defaults, then set it. Once you press any buttons to set the time...that's it. If you want to make a change you have to unplug it again and start over. Also, the LCD display has dimmed over time.
The hardest part to learn was teaching others in my house to empty the carafe before brewing.

Had this one about a year now and I love it. I still use my 25 year old Bunn but this Mr Coffee is a winner. I sure don't understand some of the negative reviews. I am very pleased with the quality and style.
