Thermal is Best

Purchased our first Mr. Coffee 10-cup Thermal Optimal Brew about 2 years ago for use in our RV, mainly because it fit, and because it has a sturdy thermal carafe. We're now sold on the Thermal vs. the glass models: it brews great coffee in about 7 minutes, and we can take the carafe to the table and set it down anywhere where it will stay hot for 2-3 hours. No need for a hot plate. We like the removable 10-cup reservoir too for easy filling and cleaning. Only two issues: 1)the clock display (not in power saver mode) has dimmed to the point where we can only see it in the dark, and 2)the little silicone washer inside the brew basket tends to pop off when cleaning, and so it's easy to lose. I called customer service and was told they cannot supply extra washers, but they would send a new brew basket at no charge. Thanks Mr. Coffee...perhaps the washer on the new one will stay put. Nothing they could do about the dim display since the coffeemaker is over a year old. Not critical since it still works, and we don't use the delay brew. Our 4-yr. old Mr. Coffee glass carafe model which we use daily in our home kitchen has just stopped working (lights up, but won't pump), so I've ordered another Thermal Optimal Brew to replace it. We like it that much. We just hope it's the same, except with a clock display light that'll go the distance.

Delicious Coffee

Over the past 8 years we've had three different versions of this coffee maker. A year ago we had to buy this one because my husband accidentally burned out the previous one. I hate it because I actually liked that version much better than this one. Anyway, aside from having issues with water leaking out from time to time, I'm pretty happy. I love setting coffee up the night before and putting it on timer, the coffee is steaming hot (not sure why anyone has this problem with not hot coffee), the thermal carafe is great, because I can drink it all day. The only negative I have is the removable water tank seems to leak if it is not properly seated-and that is not as easy as it sounds. When it starts leaking we have to unplug and literally turn the entire thing upside down over the sink to eliminate the excess. Overall I like it though. I don't want to ever go back to a glass carafe.

Best coffee maker EVER!

I bought this coffee maker a couple months ago. I like the idea of the carafe instead of the glass pot. I had no idea what a real difference it would make. The coffee is very hot and the carafe keeps it that way for several hours. Because there is no burner, the coffee is never scorched or burned. I find that we like the taste of the coffee better and don't waste near as much.

I bought this a month ago and absolutely love it. It will brew a whole pot in about 5 minutes and it stays fresh in the carafe. I had a little bit of difficulty understanding the two delay features but once it was figured out this thing has a fresh pot ready for me on the time I set it too. 2 hours later the coffee still tasted fresh and not bitter like a coffee maker using a hot plate gets. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good coffee maker.

The brew time is quick and the carafe keeps coffee hot and fresh for hours. The filter is inexpensive and easily replaced and the self cleaning option is an added bonus. I was however dissappointed with the dim clock light that is extremely difficult to see and the measurement numbers rubbed off the water tank within a few weeks. Overall I would recommend this product and will buy another when needed.

My 10 cup Programmable Coffee Maker is years old, perhaps 4 or more. It has never failed me and the coffee brew is always good..I looked at the cup at a time guys but stayed with what I have. Never regretted it. Since nothing is perfect I need to mention the Carafe. The inside started to peal a little and I had to replace it.
