Good coffee bad carafe

The coffee maker works as expected. However the carafe leaks every time we pour a cup of coffee. I thought it was us at first, maybe pouring too quickly, but the coffee is actually leaking out of the carafe where the black meets the silver. We've only had the maker for about 2 weeks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible experience

We've always used Mr Coffee coffee makers. We purchased this one after the one we used for many years finally quit. From day one the carafe leaked around the top where the metal and plastic are put together. Now when it finishes brewing and we pull the carafe out, the machine drips coffee over the base. The coffee filter basket doesn't completely drain. We should have taken it back but just haven't had the time and didn't want the hassle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

time stops lighting

this is the second time I bought the same model. both of them after maybe 1 1/2 to 2 years the light for the time and morning" brew start" stopped working. you can't set the timer the brewer itself works fine. if it happened twice i'm guessing it is a defect in manufacturing

Like it a LOT

Had this brewer for over a year now and very pleased. Coffee is hot, everything works well. My only criticism is that the LED display is too faint to read in normal lighting and needs to be brighter. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars instead of 4.

NO BURNT COFFEE!

This is our 3rd Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew unit. My wife and I drink several pots of coffee a day. We just wear them out. The feature we like most about he Optimal Brew is the Thermal Carafe. We never have burnt coffee! The unit brews 10 cups of pretty good coffee, the stainless steel carafe keeps the brew hot without the customary burner, is programmable and self cleaning. If it wasn't any good, we wouldn't have bought 3 of them.

I love this coffee maker as there is no burner so your coffee doesn't turn into acid in 15 minutes. The vacuum carafe acts like a Yeti cup. The boss!
