A Surprise over Euro Models

This unit was a surprise as to the many features - One of the best was the separate water container. Instead of "aiming" to pour water on the unit's top, just pull the container out and fill at the water source. No more spills or run over into the coffee basket. We like the pull filter basket on the side - our counter is very open and it allows quick access.
No burner is a positive - our previous models were a challenge to keep clean when any coffee spill contacted the burner plate. (or slight burning of remaining coffee) The carafe allows for use at the kitchen table and does a very job of keeping warm. Also, glass was always a challenge to keep clean.
Overall design - looks very sharp in our black/stainless steel kitchen. Keeps the time when power is out and has retractable cord for easy "parking" on the counter. Euro Tech display was super easy to program and view. Always thought of Mr. Coffee of being quick and low cost unit for the office; however, it exceeds the $150+ Euro models (high maintenance and not easy to work with) with quick high temp brewing and was a surprise.

Coffee stays hot in thermal carafe; set timer to brew before you get up in the morning; timer lets you know how long since coffee's been brewed (up to 2 hrs); attractive; good coffee! I drink a lot of coffee and I love this coffeemaker!

Like the carafe

I purchased this maker because I kept I breaking the glass containers. This is really great. I am not sure what the problem is that all the other people had with the makers they purchased but I have hot coffee that tastes really great every morning.

Keeps Coffee Hot for Hours Without Tasting Burned

I am a picky coffee drinker. I grind my whole bean coffee daily for freshness and drink it black (the way real coffee drinkers like their coffee). Not a fan of Keurig types of coffee either. This coffee maker keeps a pot of coffee hot for 4+ hours and still tastes FRESH. I have not experienced any of the negatives from other reviews. It makes excellent coffee hot, quick, and at a great price. So glad I do not keep coffee on a burner any more. Great coffee at a Great Price. :)

cleaning problem

My coffee maker will not complete the cleaning cycle. It brews the first 3 cups of vinegar but turns off before it completes the cycle with the final cup. Any suggestions? Also it has a high pitched tone while cleaning which drives me nuts. Is this normal?

Better Than Cusinart

I've owned two Cusinart makers with similar functions and aesthetics. Unfortunately, both had serious electrical issues, one even started a small fire. After searching, we found Optimal Brew. It is an exceptional product. I abuse the machine by brewing up to twenty-two cups per day, and it has kept pace. My favorite features: high brewing temperature, self-cleaner, and timer.
