Nice Featues, WEAK Coffee

Our decade-old Basic Mr. Coffee died so picked this up at the local red bulls-eye store.
I like:
Vacuum Pot -- No burner to burn the coffee. Delivers 180 degree coffee as measured.
Delay timer. -- (I'm coming from an old manual start brewer)
Removable water tank -- Handy for filling
I don't like:
Filter canister -- The integrated charcoal water filter is a nice touch, but it must be tipped up and held to dump the grinds. (I use paper filters). A better design would be to have it in a separate slot.
HORRIBLE COFFEE -- Mr Coffee advertises a "Fast Brew." In short, good coffee is not fast brewed unless you're making Espresso. I tried my normal grind from the old unit, more coffee than was recommended by Mr. Coffee, and a finer grind. Three pots. Both the wife and I in independent observations had the same opinion. Horrible, weak, coffee that is nowhere near what our old $12 Mr. Coffee delivered. A fast brew just doesn't have enough water residence time on the grind to get the richness out of the coffee.
This unit is headed back to the red bulls-eye in the morning. I'll use the french press again tomorrow that I'd gotten out of the cupboard when faithful old Mr. Coffee died. I won't use this thing..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn't Live Up

The coffee is not hot, very disappointed, but will try what one review said about pouring hot water into the carafe to warm it up. It does make sense that you pour hot liquid into a metal container, it will cool down.
However, I've had 3 problems:
1.Tthe filter I tried to use and almost broke it when installing it
2. Secondly, even though I wet the filter, it didn't allow for the water to come through the filter and no coffee came out and I had water all over my counter
3. Thirdly you have to make sure you push the "basket" on the side, ALL the way in! For some reason it doesn't stay on mine an pops out AFTER I start to brew and have to hold it in place. Defective I think.
Oh, and then today, I picked up the pot and it seemed light....the coffee never came through but as soon as I removed the carafe, coffee started pouring out of the machine! Ugh. I don't have my receipt anymore and not sure if I can return it for a replacement.
I'm only giving it kindly 3 stars, because I do like the look of the machine and despite all the issues, the buttons are really easy to use.

we bought one that was just like it WE THOUGHT ...

We just bought a new one just like the one we had for years But this same model they changed the length of the cord and now we can not plug it in Just what were they thinking ?????? also the water well has a new style lid that just falls right off.. This is so sad as we loved the one we had just like this so much we bought one that was just like it WE THOUGHT ...

Love at first sight, hate at second month.

Loved the look and design of this product. Took it home, cleaned it, used it for about 2 months and then the "fun" began. One morning, the pot decided to overflow onto the counter, cabinets, floor, etc. Lovely event to encounter at 5am. Possibly, this was user error... however, it happened FOUR MORE TIMES!!!! We started being extremely cautious, cleaning the carafe after every use, SCOOPING loose grounds out of the base of the filter unit, etc. In addition to that, the one time I attempted to use the auto-brew feature, the maker showed the "fresh coffee" timer on the screen, yet no water had been brewed, the grounds were untouched, and the carafe was empty. The product clearly has MULTIPLE flaws and needs to be removed from store shelves until it functions.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not as Good as it Looks

I had an older version of Mr. Coffee with Thermal and love it. After several faithful years, it broke. This new one is a disappointment. It looks great. Love the detached water compartment which is really flexible. The fancy side slot coffee container only works with a big kitchen with lots of room on the side. With narrow room, I'm struggling everyday to insert this part in. But come to the bottom line, "the coffee", it taste terrible, very watery. The water runs through way too fast and there's nothing you can do about it, no adjustment can be made. I tried the water filter disc twice in hope of slowing down the water, but it only make it worse, the middle portion of coffee grind is dry, which means water only went through the side, make it even weaker. With all these years of producing coffee maker, Mr. Coffee should know better.

I always buy Mr. Coffee. But recently I have been disappointed with the quality and durability of their higher priced units. I don't mind paying more for quality, but my last two units haven't been "Quality" units.

Used Once, Leaked ALL Over Counter

Just bought this 2 days ago, used it once and it worked fine. However I filled it up last night and set delay timer and noticed a half hour later my counter was covered in water. Cleaned it all up and looked at how reservoir attached and thought may I had lifted it up after first installing and that was why it leaked. Filled it back up again and went to bed, woke up to wet counter again this morning and only 3 cups of coffee made it from the 8 cups I filled it with last night.

Can't review because it won't work

I purchased this coffee maker today. I unpacked the machine and read the directions for how to get started. I rinsed the pot, lid, reservoir, filter compartment. I plugged the unit in, set the clock, filled the reservoir, replaced all parts and hit Brew Now button. The light is 'pulsing' as the manual states that is should. NOTHING! It has been 20 minutes and there is nothing happening. The parts are all securely in place. I read the troubleshooting section in my manual and checked all of the reasons stated. Any suggestions will be appreciated...
