Working great after 3 years!!

Had this one for over 3 years now. Works awesome still. Thinking about buying another one before they quit making them. Only issue is can't read the clock anymore. Very dim. But who cares. Just can't delay brew now. And had to buy a carafe lid gasket once. Clean it with vinegar when the light comes on every 3 or 4 months. Brew 2 or 3 pots a day. Everyday.

It's great while it lasts

I bought mine in May 2017 and it's Dec 2017. I don't know why but the coffee is coming out weak. Fresh ground beans, same coffee brand, same amount of coffee grounds in basket. I checked the temp and it's around 175°. I think the heating system is going bad. It sucks that a nice coffee maker like this looks like it lasts a year maybe little more then it starts dying.

Brews great coffee, has a few flaws

No complaints about the coffee! Brews a great cup (or 10). The two issues I’ve had within one year- the digital display is now SUPER dim (I can read it at night with the lights off, barely). Also, the carafe was dropped and the pour spout broke off- and I can’t find a replacement! Looks like I need to buy a new machine, if I want to stop pouring coffee on my countertop every morning. But, at least the coffee is good!

I now have 2 of these. Easy brew features--water compartment removes. Reliable programming. Keeps coffee hot. Bright display. Makes good coffee. Easy to clean.

Great Tasting Coffee

I bought this coffee maker a few days ago, and I absolutley love it! My coffee now has improved flavor and less bitterness. Love the insulated pot and of course the filtration system. Good show Mr. Coffee!

Fast brew, great coffee

After 4 months of using the Optimal Brew I have been extremely satisfied with the results. I brew a variety of coffees from Eight O'Clock to specialties (such as La Colombe) daily and without fail this system always makes a great cup. I would recommend this to any coffee drinker who wants a quick brew cycle for a good price.
Pros: The fast brew cycle means your coffee is ready before you know it. The water filtration discs are easy to use (but they have their drawbacks as well). The removable reservoir makes filling as snap. The sleek contemporary design and eye appeal means this machine looks great in any setting. This coffee brewing system is so quiet that you hardly know when it is brewing. The audible tone that signals the completion of the brewing cycle is a great nuance due to the low decibel coffee production.
Cons: The water filtration discs that you must use are too expensive and need to be changed to frequently. The idea is brilliant, but the execution is poor. The clock is always slow and requires adjustment. A 60Hz cycle should require little in the way of technological design. Mr. Coffee need to address this issue as it affects brew cycles if not kept in check. Stainless steel looks great, but is a pain in the neck to keep clean.
The Optimal Brew from Mr. Coffee is a really good product that can offer "the weekend drinker" to the coffee elite a fast brew with a great taste. A quick re-think of the filter discs and a clock that keeps time will make this home coffee system the best value for the money. In the end, I would recommend the Optimal Brew to all of my coffee friends.

Perfect for heavy coffee drinkers

This 5 star rating is for the last unit I purchased.
It is great for those of us who hate scorched and burnt coffee because the pad is always on to keep the coffee hot. In an RV this is especially not a good thing as power consumption of appliances is a major issue. This pot worked flawlessly and lasted over a year. Both my husband and I are heavy coffee drinkers so in a years time it gets three years or more worth of use so it lasting a year was expected and is not an issue. The coffee was always hot. The pot beeped when brewing was completed and it turned itself off.
Purchased a new one through Walmart and it is worthless. It does not beep when brewing is done nor does it turn itself off. The clean cycle button light comes on every other time and can't get it to turn off. The coffee tastes like the element is bad. The new version of what was once an excellent coffee maker is now like a cheap knock-off. The thermal pot is clearly cheap compared to my last model as is the entire pot itself. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that someone decided making a cheap product was a good idea. The whole idea behind this coffee maker was to make better coffee. The newest version, however, goes in the exact opposite direction.
PLEASE put quality back into this coffee maker!
