Excellent but sorely misunderstood

We are snowbirds with two small houses and I have this coffee maker in each. Before I retired I also convinced my coworkers to buy this same model for the office. So that is 3 of these coffeemakers making pots daily for over 8 years now. It makes excellent coffee. It keeps it warm a surprisingly long time and has functioned flawlessly in all that while. The removable water reservoir is a handy bonus, particularly in the office where freshwater is down the hall.
I was astounded to see the number of poor reviews for this thing and read through a number of them. I'm sorry to say that in almost every instance I saw, the problem was operator error. The most common issue was fully replacing the carafe. Like almost ALL coffee makers these days, you can remove the carafe before the machine is done brewing; that is, before all the liquid has drained from the basket. To enable that, there is a valve between the basket and the carafe that is open when the carafe is put in place and closes when the carafe is removed. If you do not put the carafe fully into place, the coffee cannot drain from the basket and it will overflow and make a mess. That has happened to me on a few occasions, but I understood it was my fault. I might also add that if you forget to dump the half pot leftover from yesterday and try to make a full pot on top of it, you will also have a mess on your hands. Once again, though, this is operator error. As far as my experience goes, this machine does precisely what it is supposed to do and has held up very well. I HAVE recommended it to others, including my boss, who bought one, and thanked me for the recommendation. So, buy one of these, make yourself a hot pot of coffee and have a nice day.

Worlds Best Coffee Maker!!

This coffee maker is fabulous. The carafe keeps the coffee warm for hours without burning it. It is professional grade. The wifi feature allows you to brew coffee so it is ready when you arrive so long as you prepared it to brew beforehand. You can also set a timer for it to brew. It is attractive and fancy enough for a dinner buffet. The pot stays cool to the touch so it can be set on the table. The carafe is also spill proof. It is an exceptional value due to its ease of use and superior quality. I am highly satisfied with the value, performance and quality of this Mr. Coffee product. Disclaimer: I tested this product as an in home review.

Love this coffee maker!!!

First let me say before I bought this machine, I had a $300.00 Capresso coffee maker with the built in grinder and still do. It's just on vacation! The reason I bought a new machine was so I could see something different on my counter!
With that said, let me get to my review. I saw this machine at Walmart and fell in love with the clean lines and and stainless steel. Went home and read the reviews and as always, not all were good but took a chance anyway and I'm so glad I did.
I've had it for 2 years now and it still brews hotter and faster than my capresso ever did and 4hrs later I still have hot coffee! There were reviews that said there were problems with water leaking from the water reservoir and the car at would leak coffee around the seam where the plastic and steel come together. I have not had either of these problems. HOWEVER, there was one review concerning a smell that came from the water reservoir. Mine had this smell from day one and I can't describe it but, after 2 years it's still there.
Another review spoke of the clock display being too dark. Mine suffers the same problem but I've learned to live with it.
Another review has mentioned that the cleaning light keeps coming on. This must be an isolated problem as I have only seen one or two mentioning this and I do not have this problem.
The machine fits beautifully under my cabinet and I don't have to move the machine out to put water or coffee in it. The design is so simple and so easy to use. I have used it every single day for the past two years and have never problems. This is the first Mr Coffee I've had in 35 years and let me say they've come a long way.
I absolutely LOVE this machine and HIGHLY recommend it to all my friends. As I said at the beginning of this review, my previous machine had a built in burr grinder. I did miss having fresh ground coffee so I also bought the Mr coffee burr grinder and love it too but that's a whole other review.

Best Coffee Ever!!!

This coffee maker brews the Best Coffee Ever. Many people have reviewed this product and claims it leaks. It will leak if you overfill the reservoir, but if you just fill it to the Max line, put a normal paper filter in it, and use 4 scoops of coffee, you will have the Best Coffee Ever! We drink tons of coffee in my house. I use the Timer to brew my first pot at 6AM. Then I make four to five more pots a day. Every cup is delicious and Awesome! This is the 2nd one that I bought. The 1st one lasted 5 years, then the clock became too dim to see, so I bought another one. The 1st one still works so I use it at my shore house. Thanks MR. COFFEE for Making such and Awesome Coffee Maker.

Even better than my previous coffee maker which was a Mr. Coffee. Like that the water filter is connected to the brew basket drawer. Like that I can remove the water reservoir to fill it. Before I had to fill the carafe with water and then pour that water into the reservoir; one extra step to ensure spillage. Like that the coffee stays hot inside the thermal decanter. Controls are easy to use. Be advised: if you download the owner's manual from Mr. Coffee you'll see on page 5 that the water reservoir is permanently attached to the lid; they no longer make that model and the lid is separate from the water reservoir now.

An exceptional coffee maker

I have had this for a month and it gets used multiple times a day. It was purchased on-line despite some sketchy reviews to replace a Melitta thermal coffee maker that died an early death. I cannot believe some of the poor ratings I found on line prior to purchasing.... "Coffee is too hot"....Seriously? Hot water equates to great extraction. Most drip machines are notoriously too cold to get good extraction.
This thing is fast, consistent, easy to clean, and just makes an awesome cup of coffee.
The only feature I miss on my Melitta is a brew strength choice. I have to use about 1/8 cup more beans to make the cup of coffee I am used to with this maker.
Highly recommended

A solid Mr. Coffee machine

I’ve been seeing these reviews where they are saying it leaks. This is probably not the case. I’ve had these “leaks” 3 times now. It’s because I didn’t empty the carafe from the day before. That is my fault not the machine.
I’ve had this machine for several years now. I throw the carafe and basket into the dishwasher several times a week with no issues. It makes a great cup of coffee and I never ever want to go back to a glass carafe as the burner element burns the coffee after awhile. Ive been working from home over the past year and I’ve had good coffee from 7:30 - 12:00 every day with this machine. I love it.

I love this coffee maker

I just replaced my original pot this morning. I guess several years of hard water took it's toll on the water pump. When I purchased the original pot it wasn't because I read the reviews, it was because I was tired of replacing expensive pots. Thermal carafe is a must. It doesn't take long for coffee in a glass carafe on a hot plate to become bitter. That may be OK for someone who adds cream and sugar, but not for black coffee. I like the programmable feature, the removable water tank, and the cleaning feature. The black and stainless matched my appliances and it is inexpensive. This pot lasted far longer than the many expensive pots I tried.
