Not Happy!!!

I got this Steam Mop for a Christmas present in Dec 2010. At first I loved it, wished it would have gotten a little hotter but worked good for about 10 months. Now it won't steam at all. I have replaced the filter and still doesn't work. I have looked all over the internet trying to find a solution with no luck. Sad that you spend that much for something that only works for less than a year.

Sorry about the issues you are having Jm7532. Your Steam Mop Deluxe should steam easily. If you are experiencing a lack of steam or it is reduced, the nozzle may be blocked. To remedy, unplug the unit, remove the swivel head from the lower body and pour vinegar through the center tube of the swivel head "neck". Clear the nozzle by inserting a paper clip into the brass spray tip located in the bottom of the lower body.

I was disappointed in this steam mop. It is ready quick, but it does not clean very well. It does not seem to put much steam out. I can't even see any wetness on the floor as I am mopping. Walked across the floor with clean white socks on afterward, and they did not stay white, very dingy on the bottom.

Also, to ensure optimum performance you should use distilled or demineralized water and change the filter when needed. Change the filter when the bright green grains turn blue. If the filter is not changed at the appropriate time, calcium deposits will accumulate on the heating element, causing damage or reduced performance.

It does exactly what the claims say. It cleans the floor and the best part is NO CHEMICALS. Uses only water. no worry about the negative sides of them. Easy to use and care for.

Broke after 4 uses!

This is the worst of the lot! My first one stopped steam in less than a year. They sent me a replacement, which I was very happy about, but that stopped steaming after only 4 uses!! I did everything right including clicking it in very good! When I was done, most of the water was still in the tank which led me to believe it did not end up on my floor, plus there was no steaming! I WOULD NOT recommend this particular steam cleaner to anyone! Do not buy the Deluxe steam cleaner!

Thank you for your review. We're really sorry for your trouble with the PowerFresh Steam mop. We do want to help you. Make sure only to use water in your machine. Distilled water is best. No vinegar or other chemicals can be used. Make sure there isn't any damage to the water tank or cap. Check the X-valve on the cap by pushing up with your finger to see if water comes out. The machine takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute to heat before selecting a steam setting. You may want to remove the mop head after the machine is cooled with the machine unplugged. Then clean the spray tip with a paper clip. This will unclog any hard water deposits.

I used this product one time, for about 2 minutes, and it worked great. The second time I used it, it wouldnt produce hardly any steam. the troubleshooting guide said the nozzle could be blocked, or the filter could be depleted. I cannot see how that would occur after 2 minutes of use. It is still brand new. I will be returning because it is junk if I have to unblock the nozzle or replace filter after every 2 minutes of use. JUNKY PRODUCT!

We are sorry for your trouble. With a new machine, perhaps it just needed to be primed. With a full tank of water, depress the trigger for 2 minutes. This should do the trick.

I received rave reviews about the steam mop deluxe how ever when i bought one myself i have not been completely satisfied. My first issue is that the mop leaves the floors soaked and streaky, i have to go over the floor again with a swiffer to clean up all the water. I change the pad everytime i use it so not sure what else would help. My second problem is that the tank constantly leaks, this is the most frustrating of the problems. The mop does a great job cleaning the floors but causes more work because i then have to get down on my hands and knees and sop up the extra water. Help! I have only had the mop since May 2012 and dont think it should be malfunctioning this soon.

Colleen, sorry that you haven't had good performance out of your Steam mop. We recommend only pressing the trigger intermittently as holding the trigger could lead to over-saturating your floor and streaking.
The unit shouldn't leak though. You may want to look at the following areas after unplugging the machine from the outlet:
Filter
-Make sure the filter is securely pushed into the body of the unit and that there are no cracks anywhere on the filter.
- Ensure the thin black o-ring is attached at the bottom of the filter. If this is not present or if the filter is cracked, the filter needs to be replaced. If the o-ring is in place, check for deformity. (Products such as vinegar or other non-recommended solutions can cause deformity of the o-ring).
- If the connector the o-ring attaches to is broken inside the receiver, this needs to be removed.
Tank
- Check the tank and cap insert for damage and to ensure the tank is securely pushed into place on the unit. If needed, a replacement cap insert assembly can be ordered online at this link, http://www.bissell.com/parts/?id=9143&sc=product&productid=3703&icid=ccrr
I hope this helps.
