Leaves streaks

I love the ease of my mop but it doesn't seem to clean my floors... just spread the dirt around and leave a streaky, dirty mess. I would love to know if I'm doing something wrong. Otherwise I may have to go back to the traditional mop where I can rinse between sections.

Thanks for the review. If you are using the mop for the first time and your floors are extremely dirty you may need to change the pad during cleaning or wash the pad to remove the dirt. Additionally, make sure to use the 'steam on demand' trigger intermittently as it doesn't need to be held the whole time. This could cause oversaturation and excess water on the floor leading to streaking. I hope this helps.

I just bought this new model, and it is pretty much identical to the one I bought back in 2004. I wore the old one out, and knew for sure that I wanted a Bissell again. It is easy to use and does an awesome job. I love the fact that I don't have to use any chemical cleaners on my hard floors. I own several Bissell products, and they are all awesome!!

I bought this mop with the hope that cleaning my floors would be easier. This thing is going in the garbage! It continually leaks water. I'd rather get down on my hands and knees and scrub!

So, this is my first steam mop from Bissell. I used it today!! Was very dissapointed that all it did was move the dirt around as I mopped the floor. The debris never once picked up and just moved, as I would move the mop te dirt would just stay were i left off....What should I do about this? Return it and buy a different brand? Not happy

Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry for your disappointment. We have a few tips to make sure your machine is working properly. Please check for water in the filter. When the filter is new, it may take a couple of minutes for the machine to pump water through it. The machine may make a louder noise while it is doing this, but should soon subside. The filter can be soaked in cold water for 10 to 15 minutes to saturate it. Also, check for steam with tank and filter off the unit, by pouring a small amount of cold water into the hole where the filter connects to the unit and depress the trigger. Check for steam at the spray tip with mop head removed by taking off the single screw at the base of the unit. If there is no steam at the spray tip, unplug the machine and insert a paperclip into the nozzle opening to remove a possible blockage. If there is steam from the spray tip, the mop head may be clogged. Pour white vinegar through the top of the Mop Head to clear the clog. We hope this is helpful to you.

The machine leaks water when standing. Have bought a new filter used distilled water or the bottle water Bissell sells. Over all I like the product. Cleans the floor and sanitizes. The filter seems a bit expensive though. Like the washable pads.

I purchased mine about 3 months ago and noticed the constant leaking from tank, which seems to be a common issue with this product. Because I don't hassle with returning products I just tighten the cap as recommended by the FAQ. That solution was short lived. Having to depress the trigger every time I need steam is a pain so I've resorted to using a rubber band to keep the steam going. It is now 3 months later and the steam feature doesn't even work anymore and I use distilled water every time!! I am now left with dirty soaked floors! Ugh!

leaves the floor too wet. I have had other steam mops in the past and my floors dried as you use them. this one just left a wet floor.very disappointed with Bissell
Response from BISSELL HomecareBy bissellpwr, bissellpwr, April 21, 2022
Thanks for giving the mop a try! If the floors are appearing too wet, try pressing the steam trigger less - that should help to reduce any excess moisture on your floor.
