I just bought my second steam mop, I've had my first one for about 4 years and it's still going strong! I have a cleaning service now so I bought the second one and because of the special price Bissell was offering. I've seen the negative reviews on leaking...one of my clients has one that leaked terribly, but after tightening the cap tighter than I usually would, LEAK FREE! Also the fish smell, never had that problem until recently. I replaced the filter smell is gone! I also went back to my practice of NOT leaving the water dispenser full or on the mop when not in use. Wet floors....don't keep pressing on the steam button continuously and change pads frequently. All these tips work, and I love this machine and so do my clients!

I bought the bissell steam mop about 7 months ago but I have not used it for about 4 months because within the first 2 months of use it would leave my house smelling awful and my water is distelled so I'm very unhappy with the product and upset of all the money I paid for it because I'm back at using a regular mop....It left my floors clean but awful smell.

That's not good. You may want to try washing your mop pads. You can do this with mild detergent (non-bleach), warm water, and do not use fabric softener. If this doesn't help, contact us at http://www.bissell.com/email-us/?icid=ccrr

This little but very powerful steam mop is the next best thing to sliced bread. I have 4 dogs and the first time I used I was very amazed and would recomend it to anyone..Love it

Purchased this product to replace the old mopping method of cleaning, after several months we had to replace the filter due to a split in the plastic. Now after a couple of months again the filter has a crack and the water just goes all over. Ugh!!!!

Hi Darleen, you may want to remove the water from the tank when the unit is not in use. This suggestion is just in case your tank is cracked or leaking.

I can't say enough good things about this steam mop! It was so affordable, but quality has not been compromised. The naturally scented Bissell distilled water is a great way to give your home a "clean" smell without harsh chemicals. I have peace of mind that my pets are not exposed to anything harmful top. :)

Don't feel it's killing germs

The stream only comes out when push button,and if you push button to much you have wet mess. Bottom isn't heated so what are you doing besides pushing around water from dirty floor.how is it killing germs? I feel like I'm spreadng them. Going to return item very disappointed!! Plus kills my back and when pull back on mop getting lifts up
