I like mine...but it leaks. When the water canister is full, water continually leaks down the right side and drips on the floor. I have checked the seal again and again. It has 2 parts to it and I am continually trying to get it to quit leaking. No luck. What am I doing wrong? If I could get it to quit leaking, it would be a 5 star. I love it until I have water dripping on my feet or puddling on the floor.

CCrider, make sure you are washing the pad regularly and replace the filter too. Distilled water is recommended as the minerals from tap water can build up or give off their odor.

This is my second Bissell. The first one I purchased four years ago was the predecessor to the 31N1 and loved it. It needed repair, and it was cheaper to buy a new one than have it repaired, so I purchased the 31N1. I love the ease of use, the way it super cleans by steaming the floor and the movement of the head to get everywhere you need to clean. It came with 2 washable mop heads and a special carpet steaming attachment. This, along with my two dyson pet vacuums (upstairs and downstairs) are a must in my home and I couldn't live without.

I purchased this product 3 years ago and love it! I have ceramic floors and have even used it on my trex front steps. I am very hard on vacums and steam vacums , with products rarely lasting more than 2 years, this product has performed superbly !

This little number shows you just how dirty your floors really are. It works so well, I was shocked to see all the dirt and grime that came up off of my "clean floors"! I have pets and toddlers and try to keep the floor clean,and actually thought I was doing a great job until I used the steam mop.. Great item. No home should be without one!!! I have bought 2 others to give as gifts.

Today is my first time using the Steam Mop Deluxe & I am also having the tank leaking issues mentioned by numerous reviewers. There are no cracks in the tank, cap, or filter & the o-ring on the filter is not defective. Bissell, have you ever considered placing a rubber gasket on the top of the filter to give the tank a better seat? Also, how about making the mophead lock into a stable fixed postion when the handle is in the upright position like the Black & Decker & Haan steam mops.

This should be in every man's toolbox. As a single guy, i never liked mopping floors (kitchen/Bath). Till now!. This mop makes cleaning a breeze. No gimmicks just easy cleaning power. You wont realize just how dirty your floors are till you use this mop, and use it you will. There is only two negatives about this mop. First is that carpet cleaning attachment, it doesn't stay on or i'm not using it correctly. Second is it's ability to get edges takes a bit of work. I imagine this is a draw back of all steam mops. So if you are going to get a mop. this is It. This mop has a little weight to it, good surface contact makes sure you cleaning even the toughest grime and dirt. Super easy to use, and it's of good construction. Light enough to hang on the wall with it's wall hanging attachment and a nice natural color that matches any decor.. So take the guess work out of cleaning, and get this baby right here.

We were very happy to try the Deluxe Steam Mop. But ALL TOO SOON water puddled around the mop. The ring on the filter was on good and we used the Bissell water provided, then distilled water. Now we notice a crack in the filter. Not having the machine very long and after finding out how expensive the filter is , the mop sits. Now, what do we do? On average, how long does the filter last?

Thanks for the comments and questions Flo Floor. We're sorry about the issue you've encountered. You should change the filter when the bright green grains turn blue. If the filter is not changed at the appropriate time, calcium deposits will accumulate on the heating element, causing damage or reduced performance. The life of the filter will depend on the amount of use.
