I have had this phone now for a year and a half and this is the 3rd replacement that I have had! Problems started within the first month of ownership. I would go to open the key pad and the screen would shut off. I would have to turn the phone off and back on again only to have to go through the same process if I were to open the screen! The second replacement would freeze and duplicate letters in text messages resulting in a very time consuming editing process! My 3rd replacement hasn't been as complex however, has not been problem free. All in all this phone has been a hugh disappointment as far as Samsung reputation! I love the design but loath the complications.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, technical problems
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When the impression was first released I was extremely excited. I purchased the phone days after the offical release last year.
However, I deeply regret buying this phone. My touch screen froze to the point where I could not fix the phone; my 1 year warrenty is up so there is hope of getting this phone fixed. Up until this problem I loved my impression. Now it's just another useless phone that is going into the trash. After reading the online reviews and seeing MANY people with this exact problem you would think Samsung would issue a recall on the phone for being a product failure and replace all phones no questions asked. I will most likely not purchase another samsung product, as I'm sure the impression isn't the only faulty touchscreen.
What a shame for such a great phone! With so many people having the same problem with this phone--stay away!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, faulty touchscreen
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In Love/Hate

I am on my 2nd impression. I love love love the phone & would love to see it perfected. The only things I hate about this phone is I can't text & talk on it at the same time, the slide feature seems to cause some problems with shorts/glitches with time. It gets to the point where you can't open the phone at all only touch screen is available. I have had this one for 6 months now & it has the same problem as the last one did. The graphics are messed up badly when u slide it open for use & the screen goes black. The speaker has gone out so I can only talk on speaker phone. I take extremely great care of my phones so it is not from anything other than technical glitches/ design glitches.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, takes fantastic pictures, tons of memory, easy to use
Cons: too many glitches, short battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst Phone ever!

Well, i'm the type of person that takes care of their phone. I've never dropped this one, gotten it wet, anything. So I was very suprised to open it up yesterday and find that the screen was tinted blue. When I locked it, the screen tinted red. I shut the phone off, turned it back on, and it did the same thing. I took the battery out, tried again and then it was worse. Now, my phone will shut off randomly. Also, the screen now will become fuzzy and makes all sorts of different images. I really don't know what's wrong with it. All I know is, I will not be getting a new Impression to use and I don't suggest it to anybody!
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, screen breaks, shuts off randomly, skips letters when typing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor touchscreen

I am finally eligible for upgrade and getting rid of this phone. I've sent this phone back twice due to the screen freezing up on me and making my phone useless. Now for the 3rd time, the screen has frozen. I've not dropped it, gotten it wet, treated it roughly, kept it as protected as I always do. The night before screen was fine. Next morning, absolutely useless frozen touch screen - again! Not getting another Samsung

I am now on my 3rd Samsung Impression in approximately 6 months. The first one kept freezing up so they sent me a second one that did the same thing. I decided to live with it until it locked up and the only way to unlock it was to take the battery out and put it back in. When I did so I got a blue screen with a bar that slid across and then went to a green screen where it stayed. Just got phone # 3. Very Disappointed. This is the worst phone I have ever owned.
Pros: nice camera
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, locks up, not reliable, scrolls through pictures on it's own
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I origionally purchased this phone when it first came out years ago. I lasted 2 years then I had a screen problem that was not easily fixed so I purchased a second one just like it. I have owned this phone 3 times over the last 5 years and one was used. The used one only lasted a year but it was worth it. I love the features and the way it works with its features easily. i even purchased one for my father because of its easy features and size. He loved it for 9 months, that was when he dropped it for the last time. He is hard on phones and after dropping at least 3 times a day for 9 months it had enough. But he loved the phone and purchased another.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, great battery life, easy to use and adjust
I would recommend this to a friend!

Almost the exact phone for me.

I do really like this phone and plan to keep it. I was told that the phone could sync with Outlook via PC studio however it looks like it cannot. Seems like such a simple feature to implement and I have had it on other Samsung phones with less overall features. I really need a method to BACKUP my contacts in an organized fashion. Maybe the Samsung engineers will give us a microcode update that will allow it. That is the only drawback for my usage. Other than that I love everything else about this phone.
