Ive had this for some time now, and Ive become very aquainted to it. The only problem i ever run into is that when i goto look at pictures ive taken or take a picture it freezes up. Other than taht it works well. when it takes pics they come out very nice for a 3MP camera. I like the touchscreen and the features in the phone. could it do more? of course, but for the price/value ratio it does a lot. The built in speakers sounds good even playing music., ive dropped it a few times on accident and its held up. i tend to be more rough on my phones than i should, but this ones done well so far. the screen looks and works great. overall its a pretty good pone if your looking for somthing but dont want to pay a small fortune.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Phone is great. Love the qwerty keyboard, except the dial number keypad is not easy to use when needed for number prompts during a call.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: dial keypad not easy to access during a call
I would recommend this to a friend!

Only if you want a temporary phone

For anyone that gave this phone rave reviews, they just got their phone ( I too felt this way at first). This is the 3rd Samsung Impression that I have received (through my phone service) due to the screen freezing. Basically, I lose all info I have because one day the screen decides it is not going to work for any reason. I haven't dropped it, haven't gotten it wet, NOTHING! Not impressed. At all!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not Worth It

I've had this phone for over a year now and being my first official contractually obligated phone, I was very disappointed. The phone is slow to respond, clunky, and not user-friendly.
I have fairly large fingers and this phone was my best bet for comfortable texting and use of the keyboard, but it's awful. I find myself pressing the backspace more often than any other key on the keyboard, and I'm an expert typer. I could type a message with my eyes closed, but this phone makes me look like a dyslexic child with its unresponsive keys and delayed input. When trying to use the touchscreen to type, that's even worse. Pressing anything gives out an even longer delay and poor coordination.
Using the phone overall is basic and caveman in nature. It has all your basic functions, but that's it. The applications are also basic and take quite some time to load, making using the phone a hassle.
I could forgive all of this if it weren't for the manufacturing. It feels excessively clunky, cheap, and poorly designed. Hearing someone on the speaker is either too loud or too quiet. The camera is decent, at best, and only offers medium-quality photos when standing completely still, target is in focus, and also not moving. The speakers, however, are fairly decent. I bought an external memory stick for minor music listening and the quality is pretty good.
All in all, this is a terrible phone. I suggest you skip it and look for something else. If it weren't for the plan attached to the phone, I'd already be using my out-of-date old flip Tracfone. I cannot wait until my contract is up to get a new, hopefully less junky, phone.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, poor design, horrible keyboard, unresponsive touchscreen
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Impression is an outstanding touchscreen phone! When you add the QWERTY keyboard it is a hands-down "Best Value" in todays market.

VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE IMPRESSION

This phone is by far the best phone i've ever owned. The screen is crystal clear and amazingly bright . The features are outstanding and the phone looks cool when you slide the face to use the Qwerty key pad. I would recommend this phone to anyone who would like a stylish and sleek phone. Way to go Samsung.

Great phone, needs apps, speed, durabilty, brighter screen

I send about 16,000 texts a month. With the constant sliding of the screen to access the keyboard, I experienced the screen shutting down from wire breakage in 8 months. I wish this phone was able to get dowloadable apps, and the internet speed leaves something to be desired in comparison to other phones. The screen is sometimes hard to see while outside in the bright sun. In the end it is a good phone and easy to use.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, poor durability, no downloadable apps
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Phone, small issues!

I am really impressed with how nice this phone is considering the price. The touchscreen is nice and big, and sensitive. The battery life is okay, about 3 days. I love love LOVE the slide out keyboard, not too bulky at all! Very sheek, relatively durable.
The only problem I have so far is that when the phone is locked, it unlocks itself when it's slid open, which seems like a dumb feature. Haven't had it slide open in my purse yet, but if it gets flimsy in the future, it seems like it could just slide open and start calling people. The unlock button also isn't in the best position, hard to push and I usually just end up sliding open the phone and unlocking it anyways.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, attaches to computer for easy ringtone download
Cons: unlocks itself, battery life
