Phone Freezes When Using Virtual Keyboard

The phone freezes and restarts itself all the time when you try typing on it's side with the virtual keyboard. It happened with the first one I got. I exchanged it for a new one and it happening again. Samsung needs to come out with an update ASAP to fix that.

I have read several of the reviews on here but none of them really influenced my decision. In the end going to the store, talking to a salesperson and actually getting a hands on feel for the product was what sold me.
I found this phone easy to use, full of the features I want and no need to purchase a pricey product specific data plan. I have unlimited text and unlimited data for about $15 less than my Blackberry had. I also find this phone easier to use than the Blackberry and a lot sturdier.
I looked at iPhones, but of the people I know that have them, most are not satisfied and have a lot of problems, several that people say plague this phone (not sending msgs, screen black out, shutting off for no reason, etc.), and that I had with the Blackberry I owned for 2 years. The difference is, I paid a lot less for this phone.
A couple of things they could change are the fact that I can't use my music files as ringtones (without editing them down) and the fact that there isn't an acutal headphone jack, a problem I have found on other samsung phones.
There is no perfect phone out there, but if you are looking for ease of use and a lot of good features for the money, I would suggest this phone.

Had some problems with this phone

The first Impression I purchased unfortunately was defective. Had for 4 days and could not hear incoming calls unless I put on speakerphone or used a headset. On 5th day could not answer phone at all unless using headset. Returned the phone and received a replacement. Only had for 2 days and so far, so good. Overall, if the phone is not defective, I like the phone.
Two issues prevent me from giving this a better rating.
First, no voice dial. No phone this day and age should be sold without voice dialing capabilities.
Second, battery is probably about the worst that I have ever had.

So close!

Well, I love cell phones and have had one for 20 years... I was really hoping this phone would have the very basics... but it's missing some important features.
Why in the world is this phone missing touch pad sounds? I think it will be ok, but I'm stunned that I can't assign a sound when I touch the keys for dialing.
There's no speed dialing, or one touch dialing... what is up with that.... I mean come on... it's a basic feature.
And no voice activation! Frustrating!
I was told this phone will work with Outlook, because I have AT&T.... I guess we shall see.
The rest of the phone is awesome, and it feels great.
I'm hoping Samsung will fix these basics missing features, so I can keep the phone, otherwise, it's back in the box..... too sad.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Phone, but messaging problems

This phone is great! But only 2 things annoy me. First, I'm a heavy messager and every 2 hours or so I have to restart my phone because it will stop sending and receiving them. Also, A flower screensaver? Why cant I customize the screensaver! Hopefully and update will save me!

Awesome Screen but needs som improvement otherwise

The screen rocks!! Looks Great. But the phone has some pretty stupid photos that you cannot delete and they will be on the screen everytime you lock the screen..I wish they would make it where I could put my own photos on the screen locked page. The screen lock button is in a horrible place and is hard to use without accidentally sliding open the phone keyboard. Otherwise this phone is overall pretty cool.

Why put out a phone these days that won't sync with Microsoft Outlook's calendar and contacts? Other than that the phone seems to be usable.

Samsung Impression mobile phone provides all the features I wanted and without a data package. Keys are much larger than most, making it easier to text for those with larger fingers. I would recommend to anyone wanting a good phone for texting.
