....easy to setup, SO quiet, excellent picture quality. A little thing, but the remote (for older eyes) has buttons that ILLUMINATE and are large enough to see!!! REALLY appreciate that.
This projector provides excellent bang for the buck. Go get one...now!

So far I have been happy with the picture quality, and the ease of setup and placement options. I am projecting on a 120" screen from the rear wall shelf mounted at 6' high. Only issue is fan noise, and overall depth of unit including the power cord and HDMI cable. I would like to have the cords fed from the side or at a right angle to allow for a shallower depth, as the "loop" from these cords adds about 2" to depth.

After doing my research, on-line and at the AV store I hesitantly decided to replace my existing projection which required a bulb with the installation of a new Epson 8100. The bulb replacement was approximately half the cost of the 8100. Would I notice any benefits for spending the addition $ 600 for the Epson. Wow, So far so good, the installation was easy, the service support available, the menu navigable, the default setting variation minimal, and the fan motor so quite that I’m not sure if the unit is on. That is until I see the picture which is rich, deep and saturated. If the picture is a standard for the quality of the 8100, I should enjoy this product for years without problems. P.S. I do not write reviews but the Epson 8100 projector has compelled me to say Wow.

We are in receipt of the Epson 8100 since June of 2010. We found that is was easy to setup and we were on the air within one hour of unpacking the carton. We are delighted with the clarity of the various TV transmissions. The menu is easy to access in making any adjustments. The factory settings were right-on! The image is easily center by using the vertical and horizontal arrows incrementally. We highly recommend this projector.

This is my first ever projector. I have researched projectors for about 4 months before finally deciding on the 8100, and I am glad I did. The thing is big, but for my application(ceiling mount) it is not intrusive at all. I first hooked it up and projected it 119" screen and I was immediately impressed with the vivid colors and the brightness, considering I hooked it up in the middle of the day when the sun was shining. At night I was even more impressed, I have not tried Blu-Ray on it yet, but I am sure it will be amazing.

Not worth the money

The projector is everything you would want in a projector, easy to operate and set up. The major con is the life of the bulb. I've had this projector for less than a year and am on my third bulb, the first bulb lasted about 150 hrs and the second bulb lasted about 220 hrs. When the bulb works the projector is fantastic. I've been using projectors as a home theater system for about 10 years. The last two projectors I owned each lasted about 5 years with no issues and no bulb replacement. I just wanted to upgrade to 1080 quality.

I purchased this as my first projector due to the value, features, and bulb life. We have been using this mainly for movies, PlayStation, and sports. We currently have 550 hours on it and still have a bright and clear picture. Just like most projectors, you need to clean the filter to expand your life bulb! If it does go bad, it is the cheapest bulb on the market for a 4000 hour life.
I have it mounted on the ceiling at 9 feet away throwing at a fixed 92" screen and there is no bright spot or distortion from any angle in the room.
This projector will be perfect for your small to large size room and you will not break the bank with this purchase.

This projector works perfect for my home movie theatre. Looks better than my 42" hd plasma and lcd tv also it barley cost more and the picture is 10x bigger. If you like video games or watching movies/ football look no further for the price it cannot be beat. The only dowside is the size a little large for a projector but it is well worth it.
