The print quality is excellent as with all epson printers I've utilized before. I have a large format printer that I use extensively for photography printing and am extremely pleased with the output and cost of ink. I had to give the Artisan a one star rating though because the ink consumption is extremely high and the cartridges are extremely small for the amount of ink used in printing, resulting in the cost of allot of ink. Also, the paper tray is hard to set up and seems to have allot of problems with paper jams. This might be a good printer for someone who wants to print an occasional - single copy of a high quality photo for personal use, but doesn't seem to hold up to any demand printing for cost or ease. If someone is planning on printing more than personal usage, then I would recommend spending the extra money and buying one of epson's pro line models.

Excellent printer, wireless set up was a breeze, features impressive for this price point. Controls and pop up feature for controls are convenient, auto power down feature is nice. Like the paper tray -vs- paper feed feature.

After four days, I am very satisfied with the Artisan 710. Wireless setup was easy and troublefree. I have three computers (including one MacBook Pro) connected with this printer with absolutely no problems!
CD/DVD printing is a great improvement over other Epson printers that I have used for this process. The CD tray is internal and pops out at the push of a button. You gently lay the CD/DVD onto the tray and push the button a second time - the tray retracts and printing begins. No pressure - no trying to push a tray into the printer against some resistance - and obviously... no plastic trays to wear out like on older models. I'm delighted. I hope this feature has a long service life as I print a LOT of CD's and DVD's.
Haven't tried the scanner yet, but that is an added plus for the low price of this combo printer.
Highly Recommended!

Artisan 710

I purchased the Artisan 710 because of the features it offers and I wanted a wireless printer. I owned a Epson RX595 which is now out of production but still operates with out any problem even when I went to Windows 7 (64 bit). My experience with the RX595 led to Epson again. The Artisan 710 was easy to set up the wireless system.

I purchased this printer to specifically print my CDs and DVDs. I had owned a dedicated CD printer and it was junk.
Right out of the box this printer produced brilliant results. The printer is very fast and silent Even though I print only periodically I have never experienced a clogged head. I was very surprised by that as this is the first inkjet printer that I have owned in 15 years that does not clog.
I started using the photo printing option recently and was pleased to see true photo quality at the default settings. I am a professional photographer and occasionally I will have a need for a quick 5x7 print. This will quietly produce pro quality prints in what seems to be 20 seconds though I did not time it. The printer is limited to a maximum 5x7 photo print size that some may find disappointing but for me it removes the temptation to print all my work on it.
The scanner is also very fast and produces a high quality image.
The most amazing thing to me is the fact that for a very low price you get a top quality printer, scanner, and fax that is networkable. Thus I can access this goodness anywhere in my studio.
This represents a superb value for the small office.
My only regret is that my prejudice against all-in-ones kept me from owning this for so long.

It was so-o easy to install-I did it myself! My friend bought 2 for himself and his wife after I told him how much I loved it. Can't wait to try all the features (I've had it for approx. 6 months). The ink is just now getting low!!!! but it is still printing beautifully.

I've had an Epson Stylus Photo R220 for several years and it served me so well that when it started wearing out and I began looking for a new printer with similar features, Epson was the only brand I considered. The main capability I was looking for was printing to printable CD and DVD discs and because I also have an aging scanner that I use quite a bit, the Artisan 710 was the logical choice. Set up was a snap, it's print quality is terrific on paper and discs and the scanner is fast, very quiet and easy to use. I also like the fact that the disc tray for printing on printable CDs and DVDs is built right into the unit, unlike the R220 that has a separate disc carrier that must be inserted into the printer and was the first part to wear out. The only negative thing I can think of about the unit is that there are no instructions about printing to discs. The only reference to disc printing is an illustration of the control panel on page 4 of the "Quick Guide" that shows the location of the "Open / close CD tray" button. I had to figure out for myself that to print on a disc, the CD Tray must be ejected for loading a disc and retracted with a loaded disc for printing. Otherwise, the instructions are very detailed and quite helpful.
