Great purchase

I purchased the Epson Artisan 710 and found myself amazed with all the improvements since I got my Epson Stylus Photo 300. Epson met all their claims and thensome. I learned over the years, it pays to use only Epson inks and papers, if you're fussy about photo results. The features on my 710 are phenomenal, especially with the convenient CD print feature. The WiFi feature means two less wires tangled under my desk. The scanner works beautifully, no problems with paper and photo paper feed (another great feature); the tilt display makes for easy read and access to controls and the print quality is another great improvement. Thanks Epson for making such a great product at an affordable price. - TA

Excellent Cd/Dvd Printing

I have a cd duplication business and used many cd printers. This printer is by far the best. I can do up to 500 full color graphic disc's,before running out of a color. Compared to the r series printer this is twice as fast in production. The best part is that the cd tray is fixed and is not removable, which makes for even quicker printing. the ink is kinda expensive, but isn't all brand name ink. Buy the multi packs and save a couple bucks. For even slicker work use it with a Mac!!!

Perfect for my small business

This product is perfect for producing high quality prints as well as day to day proofs. I actually use it for my graphic design business and it has been a charm since installed. Set up is easy and everything worked perfectly straight out of the box. A bargain for the high quality you can achieve yet robust enough to output those lower quality black and white prints you need day to day. Extremely happy with this buy.

Pro: excellent photo printing at high speed, ability to print on CDs & DVDs, compact design in comparison to most all-in-ones, multiple ink cartridges, automatic duplex printing, easy to use control panel, easy access for ink replacement, I like that a FAX is not included as it is a feature for which I have no need.
Con: included software and drivers did not install properly in Vista (despite disk label claiming compatibility) making it necessary to download drivers and software thus making installation overly lengthy and problematic, loading of paper tray a bit inconvenient in that the tray must be removed to do so, shipping tape in undisclosed hidden areas & difficult to remove, no user manual or dowloadable PDF version (Internet only), paper output tray appears flimsy, CD/DVD tray could be more convenient

I purchased the Artisan 700 which has been discontinued. For print quality, nothing beats an Epson with Epson Ink and Paper. The scanner works great, and it prints regular office type jobs very quickly. The wireless feature is a plus for laptop users. However, if you try to print a custom size or style paper, good luck. It wont print on velum or anything semi transparent. The printer has a paper cassette that you preload with paper or envelopes. If you have any custom paper sizes it often does not feed the paper into the printer. You can't manually load any paper and you can't get it to print. This is extremely frustrating. Sometimes it picks up two sheets, sometimes it wont grab any paper stating that it is not loaded correctly. If you are only ever printing standard sizes and standard jobs this is the printer for you. If you do any custom work for prints or cards, than you are better off with a top loading Espon Stylus Photo series.

Setup over wireless is a breeze on XP. May not be the fastest at some tasks but you can't beat the ease of use, feature set and output quality ! I've been printing on CDs/DVDs through four different printers now. The Artisan is by FAR the easiest to use. Push button, tray slides out, insert disk, click print on your label program, take beautiful disk out of printer tray! Can't beat it. Photos look fantastic.

As my first Epson printer, I was a bit wary of how much I would like it. The Artisan 710 won me over right away! My need to print on DVDs was the driving force behind my decision to buy it. It works like a dream. Plus the ability to copy a DVD label from one DVD to another is amazing. The quality and speed of this printer place it at the top of its class. I do miss the rear tray option on my Canon Pixma, but all the other features on the Epson made me get used to not having a rear tray. Very highly recommended.

I bought the 710 All-In-One after my R-320 finally passed away following 3 or 4 years extreme use. While the out-put quality of the Epson printers is stunning for photopgraphs, my main use is for printing directly on CDs. The 710 is so easy to use and the tray is now an integrated part of the whole mechanical assembly. I never have to fiddle with adding an extra tray when I am printing on CDs, and the quality of the final product looks professional: excellent colors and color separation, a smooth finish. And the print time is probably somewhere around 30 seconds, certainly extraordinary for this kind of application. Frankly, I couldn't be more pleased... I am less enamored of the printer's ability to handle high gloss photo paper, especially the lighter pound paper. I typically use Epson Photo Quality Paper/Glossy and find that the paper feed often (and annoyingly) grabs two or three sheets at a time and tries to feed them through the printer, not only producing inferior results, but also wasting expensive paper and a frustrating amount of time trying to "get it right." Similarly, I have tried using glossy photo paper from other manufacturers and the results are essentially a sloppy mess. Epson has, apparently, figured out how to corner the market on its own printer paper for its own products. Not such a good deal in my book. ... Oh, the scanning feature is awesome! Can't say enough about the ease of use there...For my major application (printing on CDs), this printer is outstanding. I am not too keen on the paper feed mechanism as it seems to have difficulty detecting the thickness of the paper being fed, especially the glossy photo papers. It is, however, the only game in town as far as the CD printing deal is concerned. And the price is excellent, especially if you can find it on sale.
