I had the 800, which was slow to start, sucked ink like crazy, scanned poorly and was something of a let down. I bought it right after it came out and was blown away by the touchpanel and overall look, but it never lived up to the hype.
It died after 2 years from some sort of electrical problem. Again, a big letdown. But I needed a printer quick and the 810 was on sale so I thought I'd give Epson 1 more chance.
The 810 has been an improvement overall, but it will take more time for an overall assessment.
This seems to print faster. Wifi setup was simple. Touchpanel is still cool. DVD printing is still a big plus. I know the 835 just came out, but I'm not sure what the improvements were. The 810 seems a solid choice for now.
However, if it goes like the last one, that's it for Epson.

Great All-In-One!

Great all-in-one. Wanted to connect via ethernet--simple to set-up. Was up and printing in only several minutes. Good quality and a lot faster than our previous Epson Stylus. Now if only the price of ink would come down a little!!!!

I have had to return 2 machines. Epson is good to replace them but shouldn't they last longer than 5 months?
they are great when they work and extremely frustrating when they don't.
I use it for business and being down 5 days while I await a replacement is very difficult as I have people trying to fax me to no avail.

I can not get the ARTISAN 810 TO FULLY LOAD ONTO MY WINDOWS 7. The printer and Toshiba computer are new ( ONE YEAR OLD ) and the disk that came with the printer is not for the new windows 7. I can not get the computer to scan from the printer , the message is that the computer does not recognise the printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far, so good. I am way happy with this all in one printer, especially the fact that it actually does print borderless on the paper and the wireless option kicks.

The printer does all they say and they finally got the CD printing right. A little tray pops out, you put the disk in and they come out perfect. Wireless setup went real easy and all my wi-fi devices including the new Ipad print great. Epson has has always made good printers this one is special though.

OK FINALLY a printer that does what they say! Like most of you, I too have had many printers... too many to mention, but this 810 without a doubt has the best color quality of any of them. I especially like the aspect of printing custom CD labels that look very professional. Setup was a breeze. I bought a warrantee for this unit because if anything should happen to this and it dies and early death I will be able to get another one right away. Scanning was always a problem for me in the past since I have Apple Mac Pro computers, but the 810 makes it a breeze. Progress in printing...ahhh.
